For some years this pub has been named GRANT'S BAR. Friendly welcome, efficient service and excellent Big Clock Brewery ales. - brewed on the premises. A must visit when in Accrington. 10/10.

Pub number 3 on the list and pub number 4 of the day.
Grants is a good 15 walk from the football ground the other side of town and is the home to the Big Clock Brewery. 10 hand pumps on the bar which had 8 ales on and only 1 wasn't from the onsite brewery, my first pint I opted for Sunny Boy @ 3.8% and my 2nd was Dirty Blonde @ 4.2%...both are very good beers and were kept well. Both pints pulled by the quick and attentive barmaids.
The brewers' barrels are clearly visible from the bar and are not hidden by perspex or glass like in other brew pubs.
Interesting clientele as most of the punters were over 40 but I was busy none the less.
The decoration is sympathetic and tastefully done, leather chesterfields, nice lamps and a decent carpet.
A worthy pub for the GBG and I'm very glad I made the effort to come here...another cracker.

This is the 10th pub I have visited now in Accrington and it was the best I have seen so far. Although my visits have been spread over a number of years. As the previous reviewer says, it has a modern decor and appears to be aimed towards couples who are after romance than your typical drinking crowd. They had a good range of ales - Pennine Sunshine Pale from the Rossendale Brewery, George Wright Longboat, Cumberland Corby Ale, Bank Top Pavilion Pale & Everards Tiger. Cider was Westons Old Rosie. The barmaid was friendly. Strange looking interior, but worth a try when in Accrington. It is now called Grants.

Bit of a strange one. Has been done up to look like a modern pub for kids, but has a good range of interesting local real ales at good prices (�2.30 a pint), and wasn't too noisy or rowdy the couple of times I was in. Efficient and friendly bar staff, too. This and the Peel Park Hotel were the pick of the pubs I visited in Accrington.

Opposite the magistrates court and now called Grants. This is a 'modern' bar in an old building that serves a few ales and also has a pool table to attract te younger element. The Hop Vine Prospect I had was okay but this isn't my kind of drinking hole.

More Landlords than I have had hot diners!
I hear that the landlord from the Black Horse is taking over, that can only be a good thing.
Pub has a very traditional interior, could do with an update and face lift, but really nice pub and locals!!
