This pub really needs a new listing to disassociate it from it's previous management. It hasn't just been refurbished by new owners, it's been reinvented. The beer is well kept, serving Harveys and I believe they'll be serving Westerham brewery beers soon, as well as Peroni lager as well as the more usual fare. Their kitchen is now open and the reports are that the food is delicious. The atmosphere is friendly and the hosts are charming. The decor has been updated throughout retaining some of the original features like the pew style seating but the addition of comfy leather sofas and hard wood floors make it feel fresh and modern. The station needed a pub and this is the sort of place a lady could walk into, order a glass of pinot, and feel quite relaxed. It has a similar feel to the Black Boy in town and the Bullfinchbut it isn't as eye-wateringly expensive as the Bullfinch and isn't full of yuppy mummies with their gurgling toddlers every day. A minor gripe is that it closes in the afternoon for two hours at 3pm, about the sort of time I like to skive off work and go for a sneaky pint. Perhaps this will change as it gains in popularity which I'm sure it will.

I believe this pub is under new management, I found it to be very warm and welcoming. The kitchen has recently re-opened the food is excellent and you get very generous portions I will definitely go back.

Good god! If the beer quality is any kind of a signifier as to the hygiene standards at this establishment then I sincerely hope the kitchen has passed it's environmental health inspections!

This pub is under new management, it's a great friendly place with something for everyone - dart board, large flat-screen tv, juke box, fruity, fireplaces! The kitchen has just opened for lunch and serves a nice range of tasty home-cooked meals - including Sunday roasts. Def worth a visit - dog friendly too which is always a plus. Sounds like management has more improvements in the pipeline so one to watch.

Not having liked this pub much before (the beer was often as not as flat as a pancake) I heard it had new people in so I popped by on my way home from work to take a look, I sorely wish I hadn't!
The IPA I ordered didn't look great and had a vinegar taste setting in as I started the pint, I got about a third of the way through before the murkiness of the beer and it's rank taste seemed to intensify at which point I bottled out and left it.
I ended up drinking a pint of Guinness instead before heading back home. I'm glad I didn't hang about, I had only just got through my front door when the need to be sick hit me and I threw up. That's a first for me, I've drank beer before that wasn't in the best shape but it's the first time it's ever done that before.
Needless to say, I don't think I'll be going back there!

Fairly basic Greene King roadside pub, and now the only place for a pint anywhere vaguely near Sevenoaks railway station (and even then, its a good few minutes walk away). Two smallish bars on different levels plus a couple of outdoor tables at the back. Unfortunately there was a power cut in the area when I visited today, leaving the handpumps (or, rather, handpump as only one was on) as the only working features. Not the best pint of IPA I've had, but it was certainly better than nothing in difficult circumstances.

I really like this pub - I feel it has a nice vibe. It's good for watching the football but I've never found it loud and full of over the top football supporters. It's never too busy on a Sunday which I prefer although maybe the owners don't! Two great strong ales on tap in the Speckled hen and Abbot Ale.
A more traditional pub with friendly people there and a nice layout.

Friendly, traditional Kent local with very good IPA; felt very welcoming with nice fire and familes eating (quietly !).

Not one of the best pubs in Sevenoaks, but ok for a pint on the way back from the station.

Didn't see any 'chavs' when I was in there, but it is not fair to say they do not reside in Sevenoaks - it may have less than most towns, but the Bat & Ball area of the town is full of them!

what a great pub, no "chav" locals in here as this is sevenoaks and they dont reside in this town. good food, friendly locals, full of trophies from a very successful and friendly footie team known as "the mighty firehouse". always worth a drink on a saturday evening when the lads have just played. good darts teams. always a warm welcome, especially when the footballers wives have had a drink or 3 !! should be open 24/7 but cant see it happening myself. as for the quiz, you have to be in it to win it, so visit regularly rather than randomly and you might stand a chance

Why does the same team always win during the Pub Quiz?
We have visited on random occasions in the last view months and the same team always win. I do not think that the bar staff on their team have anything to do with it, god forbid.

Not very special this one. Has the usual Football on TV, bad food and Chav locals. At least the beer is cheapish.
