Very attractive pub in a stunning location. The house opposite is amazing. I tried one of the Nobby's beers ( this is the tap for the Nobby's brewery next door ) and was suitably impressed. Shame I was driving.

The atmosphere though, well that was a little odd. The pub was no longer doing food ( temporarily apparently) and from what I could gather it was waiting for new owners / tenants / managers.

Excellent village pub. Very good beer; I especially enjoyed Guilsborough Gold but fellow real ale enthusiasts felt all the beers tasted were good and well kept. All four of us had superb meals, very hearty portions so couldn't manage desserts! Service for food was on the slow side but then the main meal came too quickly after the starter. However that is the only criticism as all staff were very friendly and enjoyed a banter.

The Ward Arms was pub of the day for me. 8 real ales were advertised outside. Although only 5 were on in the main bar. All were Nobby's beers - Best, Wet Spell, Claridges Crystal, Guilsborough Gold and Guilsborough Guzzler. In addition, they had a real cider - Eve's Cider Co Eastern Promise. The main bar did not have much seating, with a pool table dominating. A few people were drinking in an outdoor yard at the rear. The staff, customers and pub dog were all extremely friendly. Live music seems to make a regular appearance. Altogether, a good English pub in a traditional English village. Definitely worth a visit.

Decent pub which I thought was pleasantly down to earth for such an attractive village (spotted some gastro 'pubs' nearby!)
Beer was delightful. Food looked a good price but as we sat in the drinking part didn't evidence its appearance!
may return to sample some more beer soon.......

A pleasant village local in a relatively remote pleasant village. Would be nice for an afternoon session (no public transport in the evenings). Found Nobby's own beer to be quite drinkable.

Held a private function for 40 friends at the Ward Arms last weekend - absolutely fantastic. Catering & service first class. I'd highly recommend using the pub for parties and other private dining. Well done Nobby & Kate!

Well run, friendly village local with wide range of "Home Brewed" beers (Nobby's, next door!) and the odd guest. Would definitely revisit. Pub dog rules the roost in the Public Bar!

Really friendly community pub in a gorgeous village (one of many hidden from the A14 around here). Good beer range even if I'm not sure about Nobby's own. Visit.

Congratulations to the new landlord and landlady for doing such an excellent job. The beers are good, the food is hearty and there's a very pleasant, welcoming atmosphere.

Apparently, the landlord's other pub, in Kettering, has just won CAMRA's regional pub of the year award, for the second year in succession. With plans to build a micro brewery behind the Ward Arms, perhaps this will be a contender for next year's prize?

Congratulations to Nobby and Kate, the Ward Arms is now in the 2008 Camra Good Beer Guide, well deserved.

Having once again visited the Ward Arms, to sample Nobby`s real ale, I found Paul & Kate busy giving the restaurant a make over. The new dart board looks ok Nobby, and the pool table is better for the new lights.

This pub has improved hugely over the last year with the introduction of Kate and Nobby as the new landlords. There are always 7 or 8 real ales on tap aswell as good ciders, mostly from micro brewaries not least Nobby's own brewery which is currently in Kettering though there should be news of a new brewary at the back of the pub when permission is given. Good pub getting better. Food is available at all the usual times. There is a pool table in the bar. There are regular quiz nights and monthly acoustic music sessions (first monday of the month if if you are of that leaning?).
