What a great pub, hosts Dave and Sally are fab. A very welcoming pub and restaurant. The food is great English home cooked and the Thai must be tried.

Cheers to Dave and Sally for looking after me whilst working away from home.

At last a proper pub!

Good beer, good food, good beer, good locals, good beer, good banter, good beer.
Great couple running it (Sally and Dave)

Acoustic music session (open to all) on the 4th Wednesday of each month at 8:30pm. Everybody welcome.

Did I mention the good beer?

Dave and Sally are now the latest management and have some really good plans for the old place. They have moved in from the Foresters Arms at Beckington and what a great job they have done in running that place.

Dave is an excellent host, very witty and a very plesant chap. Sally looks after the kitchen and does some very good dishes especially the fish, also has a Tai chef who does some very good fare as I have now been converted to Tai.

I do hope they can bring all this together at this very nice location and perhaps bring the old place back to it's former glory.

I'm sure they will succeed.

Good Luck for the future

Sadly looks like it has become vacant again

Good news - it has reopened as of July 2009. dropped by at the weekend and they were doing really well with overspill from the Pump festival. New owners seem really enthusiastic and the menu looked really good. We tried the homemade pork pie ploughmans and fair play it was all home made, even down to the chutney and it was fantastic tasting too plus great value. Its great to see pubs opening rather than closing, something all too common these days and I will be back over the next week or so to see how they have settled in. The pub has loads of parking; two lovely terraces with views over Iford valley to the manor house plus a good selection of drinks and proper homemade food.

Now closed, sad to say. I've been going to this pub since I was a child (with my parents!), so fifty or so years of memories...
Let's hope it'll re-open soem time soon as it has great potential and the views from the garden are superb

I just moved to Somerset and have been wandering around different villages sampling not only the ales but the ambience too....Thnank Goodness I popped into the Hungerford Arms...its gorgeous and just the right blend of local and visitor trade to be lively.
I was greeted by the owner/chef Hamish who made me instantly welcome and then I was able to meet his wife Emma later on. They are great! They made me feel incredibly welcome, a rare commodity in this world it seems, and I have been back there on several occassions for both food and drink!
Food is excellent...
Ales are great...esp the new cider!!
Ambience perfect...

You need to go there if you are anywhere close...its a hidden gem not to be missed!
