Nice setting on the common and a lovely looking pub. The beers and the real cider were on very fine form. Tring's Brock Bitter, Oldershaw's Best Bitter, one from Buntingford brewery that I can't remember (it had Eros on the clip) and Gr**ne King "IPA" with a Rioja cask cider from (I think) Mr Whitehead's cidery. All tasted and all good - particularly the Brock. Will pop back sometime soon as my brother-in-law came here recently for food and thought it was excellent.

As I have just commented on the Cricketers' sister pub (now closed) in Harpenden I though I ought to add a comment here. The Cricketers is the second best pub in Harpenden. There is always a decent selection of well kept real ales. The bar and restaurant overlap less than they did in the Three Horseshoes. the one time I ate here the food was somewhere between good and excellent although a long time coming. If you see a load of VWs outside it is best to go on unless you are a fan. Overhearing endless conversations about the merits of the latest thingymegig or the ideal flywheel weight is tiring!

Been here many times as my in-laws are locals,excellent choice of 4 ales 2 from Vale and 2 from Tring and very tasty and well kept,top location on the common with great views,hard to beat.Good atmosphere in the bar which has a good feel to it.
Excellent well thought out menu,very nicely presented by friendly helpful staff,all round a pretty good experience.One negative thought that also seems to apply to most places these days is that they seem to run out of imagination when it comes to the cheeseboard and settle for the usual suspects(cheddar,brie, stilton,goat) Shame when there are so many to choose from these days.All in all i cannot reccomend the Cricketers highly enough especially on the choice of ales.Enjoy

Great setting on the green and this pub didn't disappoint. Good selection of ales (not just GK) and friendly staff. There was a beer called 3.9 which I had never had and the barman poured me a taster which is always appreciated. Was lovely too ...

The best, cleanest, friendliest pub in Redbourn - at the moment, anyway. I popped in yesterday for a "swift half" and downed 2 pints with the greatest of ease. As well as the inevitable GKIPA and Abbots, there were 3 other real ales: Oakhams Inferno, Tring Redbourn 900 and Skinners Keel Over. I didn't stay for any food, but the other comments here are all positive, so I shall do so next time.

Nice pub in the middle of Redbourn’s Commons opposite the cricket ground as the name suggests. Located next door to Redbourn Museum. One of those places that looks as if it was once two separate buildings. Advertises itself as a Free House but that seems to mean they are free to serve as many Greene King ales as they want. Beer in reasonable condition. The back bar was being refurbished on my first visit and on my second it looked like they had turned it into a nice dining room. Has a community feel with many local clubs using it as their base. During a Summer visit they kindly let us take our glasses across the road to watch the cricket.

The Pub is situated at the edge of the Village Green, across the road from the Cricket Pitch. A very nice setting, especially in the summer. Grindletons Old Fecker was one of the beers on the pumps. Kept and served well, and at the right temperature. The food was freshly cooked and not bad at all. Had to wait quite some time though, while it was cooked, which meant I was forced into having another pint - Very sad, but there you go.
Will we go back? Oh Yes.

Agree with anonymous - pub is typical attractive Hertfordshire local, with beer range slightly better than quality, not helped by usual lager dominance. Superb location though.

New staff apparently who are curtious, beer was ok, tasted better and worse. Nothing special.
