Visited again, and still the best pub in the area by a mile, staff were attentive, beers reasonably priced, and the atmosphere was fantastic, not really a food outlet but more sport than you can shake a stick at
a reasonable choice of real ales with there headliners being timothy taylor and london pride plus one strong guest ale, very well kept, a real pleasure to drink there ,keep up the good work

Been here many times, and it is always clean and was recently refurbished in february,it has a fabulous smoking heated smoking shelter, with not only a a very good wall heater but open log fire as well
and a tv for all the sport lovers.
it has 3 real ales which include two regular ales in the shape of timothy taylor landlord and fullers london pride as well as one changing ale.
the service is exceptional with polite staff, and well kept ales and lagers.
it also has a cask marque assuring you of real ales served with the correct taste and at the right temperature
a truly wonderful free house and always a pleasure to visit.

Came here on xmas eve. Nice and busy small pub off the 622 and 321 bus routes. Had 3 cask ales on (although 5 were advertised on their site) but they rotate monthly. Had a good timothy taylor and rosey nosey. Landlord seemed friendly despite being busy. Had sports news on and seems to have football on too. Nice pub to visit with 18th century architecture and old photos. A worthwhile pub to visit slightly out if Watford.

Nice little pub with large terraced beer garden at the rear. Plenty of space, would be great on a nice day. Friendly staff, nice ale.

Community pub that was very busy on our visit this afternoon. If only it looked like the picture above! Most of the young locals were watching the FA Cup semi final on the big screen and other smaller TVs. Agree with the comment about the propensity for lager drinking here. But three real ales were available including one I hadn't seen since visiting Scotland - Atlas Golden Amber, Black Sheep Best Bitter and Fuller's London Pride. Had it have been quieter, I think I could have quite liked this pub.

well what can you say about this little gem in the heart of bricket wood, its the least expensive pub in the area and although it only has a basic food menu monday to friday 12-2pm it still manages to tick all my boxes ,the real ales are kept well, its clean and tidy including the toilets and has a very friendly clientele and staff, the atmosphere during sporting events is electric but all are very well behaved, the landlord here runs a very tidy ship, and its always a pleasure to down one of the finest pints of london pride around ,keep up the good work ,excellent

Paid a couple of visits and whilst its not unfriendly it can get filled with boorish alpha males hogging the bar. I imagine they sell more lager than ale but they had Pride and Black Sheep plus Black Dog Rhatus as a guest. Sky Sports TV and a beer garden. A decent community pub that Im sure serves its purpose well.

visited the pub for a second time with my wife, just as pleasant as before and still value for money, the landlord has refused to increase prices along with the brewery increases in early february,i purchased a pint of london pride and half a lager for my wife for 3.60,i wouldnt get much change from a fiver at the other pubs in the village, this was during the pubs happy hours but even in normal hours it was only 4.00,the staff are polite and the pub is spotless and even when its busy the staff let you know when your waiting at the bar that you have gained there attention,a real pleasure to drink there well done the black boy

what a great little pub, there is not many places you can find beers at 2.30 or if you buy a four pint pitcher it works out at 2.25 all this takes place during there happy hour period between 12pm and 6pm but even after that the beers are very reasonably priced for a good night out,all sports are shown here and there is plenty to do from a golf society to trips to the theatre, its a real village community pub, very friendly and welcoming and innexpensive, very impressed.

This pub went through a lean period recently, but is now fine. Good selection of ales and a friendly crowd, and the beer garden is substantial. Things can get a bit raucous when the sport's on the telly. 7/10
