Fine Wetherspoon - and always very busy with locals, shoppers and holiday people.

Massive building and capacity, with an elegant air - and centrally located.

Probably the busiest/most popular pub in Brighton.

Called the Post and Telegraph now. An impressive regency building, think it may have been a bank at one time. The interior is also very impressive and elegant. Plenty of places to sit in plush surroundings, upstairs and downstairs. Generally more expensive than the other JD near by, but worth it in my opinion. Still offers a fine selection of real ales and decent pub grub at fair prices.

Think this is now called the Post & Telgraph. Still a spoons but on my visiy yesterday was nicely laid out, clean and with a good range of ales. I expect it gets bombed as the week progresses. I can only assume that previous comments are a reflection of its former life.

This has been temporarily closed following a miniature riot a week ago. The current license is under review.

I have only visited during the day and I did like the Egyptian decor but I must admit I have been warned by friends that the women that frequent the place are top totty that are looking for guys, any age, that are loaded. So if you dont have an expensive motor and a city center flat you may as well pop up the Pav Tav where you can pull for the price of a Breezer.

Possibly the worst place ever stay well away. Brain dead staff enforcing a draconian pro chav dress policy. Place is full of want to be millionaires who work at McDonalds all week and spend their entire weeks wages on a couple of bottles of champagne in a vain attempt to attract ladies. If you are looking for all the try hards you have found the right place.

Scary, huge (it's a former bank) bar, catering for the alcopop/hen & stag night crowd.
