One of my favourite places to drink in Clapham common, the Belle Vue is two seconds from the tube station and is a beautiful pub. I always recieve a smile from the bar staff and the service is always good. The new menu is excellent and the food is never slow to come out. During the week when i pop in on my break to read the paper and have a quick drink the staff are always happy to chat whilst they work, especially the chap that looks strangly like harry potter. The place is always spottless and i would recommend you take a look for yourself.

Like this pub-has a unique character, doesn't feel like a chain. Nice pint. Ideally located by the tube, so makes for a good meeting place or somewhere to get a bit tanked up for the journey home. Haven't eaten here yet so no comment on food.

Was in here on Saturday afternoon for the rugby - seeing England get a tonking brought a smile to my face after the earlier Scotland result. Thought this place was okay - was packed, yet the service was still good - enough bar staff so the wait at the bar was never more than a couple of minutes. Guinness was pretty good and we had a lovely spot by the fire with a good view of the telly.

Should be good but on the occasions Ive been there always disappoints - poor service and a feeling that yo u're being ripped off dont make for a good pub

Beer selection good, but service uniformly poor...

Forgettable bland yet aspirational pub.
Clean interior but not sure what it wants to be.

Unfortunately seems to have developed some of the pretenious feel I said it didnt have 6 months ago shame I hope it gets back to its previous standard.

All right I suppose, to meet up in. Harvey's was poor on my visit. I was also intrigued by the Jaegermeister cooling machine although not sufficiently to drink any of it!! Overall, I wouldn't go out of your way to visit.

I've had a couple of good ales in here, including Harvey's on my latest trip. The bar staff seem to know how to pour a pint (an almost dead art in London nowadays) and a quite generous on their wine measurements.
Also is not as full of hooray Henrys as other places in the area.
One of the better places in cliched Clapham.

Just spent a fairly pleasant evening in here with 7 mates. Ordered food (bar snacks and burgers). All were pretty good - burgers were excellent, and arrived pretty quickly. Good selection of beers, including a real ale, "Sussex" and Kronenbourg Blanc (for those that like it). Also, they have an intriguing Jaegermeister cooling machine.

Well I used to think this place was pretty good until I had Sunday lunch there a few weeks ago......stood waiting at the bar for 10 minutes while the barmaid dusted the coffe cups, ordered food which when arrived we really should sent back. Spinach and macaroni was green mush, my chicken and mushroon pie was luke warm and the chicken was grey woth manky bit on. Uuugh. In fairness we got served quickly but that probably because t took 2 minutes to heat up in the microwave. Eat here at your peril.

Great Pub for a quiet pint. The bar snack menu is also excellent (I highly recommend the meatballs). During the daytime hours, the wireless internet access is a dream and there is nothing better than working whilst having a pint.

good atmosphere in this recently refurbed clapham pub. Unpretentious and welcome to all. Great place for a drink and bite to eat after work. Haven't eaten there yet, but hear that the food is greatly improved.

Great pub; great decor; great place to have a session with mates with a couple of snacks from the new bar menu. lived in Clapham for 20 years and since its refurbishment it is definately my new regular.

I went to this pub with some friends to have a sunday roast and wish I never had. The roast was probably the worst I have ever had. The potatoes where obviously from Iceland the whole plate was cold, the cauliflower cheese had a thick layer of skin on it, I will stop there because its making me feel ill again.. all fof £9.50! The staff are slow and really really rude and the recent revamp is rubbish. one word of advice, when desperate for a lovely roast on a sunday please please avoid this place at all costs!

Awful beyond reason. A recent refurb gives the illusion it's a gastro pub - it's anything but. Bangers&mash (£8) came swimming in baked beans, served by a waitress without a single word of english and plenty of attitude. Bar service was even worse (on a Tues). There's no excuse.

Food is good. The last half dozen or so barmmaids I've encountered here have been sweet, kind, pretty and not had the faintest idea what I was talking about

Avoids all the pretentiousness of some of the other bars in Clapham. Still cool, but in a laid back chilled out kind of way - bit like the music they play there too. Think mellow, think smooth, think chesterfield sofas and an open fire - which is exactly what they have. And did I mention the fantastic menu? Whacked up on a chalk board and ever changing, there's no better place to spend a sunday afternoon, saturday night, friday night, thursday night.....
