A break from pub ticking to take in the nearest pub to the rugby ground.

The Oxford blue is a back street pub just off Iffley Rd.

Large open plan and well decorated with an amazing cracked mirror, cinema seats and some good taxidermy.

3 ales on. The Oxfordshire Ales, Pride of Oxford was not that great and I struggled to finish it, think it was more the beer than the way it was served.

Good music being played which was 1960's mostly.

Outside area to the front and a garden to the rear.

Decent pub but the Pride of Oxford was a let down.

Pretty good and a pint of shotover went down a treat on a summer evening - it's very studenty and hence, very Oxford - there was a science talk going on on the night of our visit, so the pub was full of wispy haired boffins. The beer garden doesn't look like it gets much sun but was a nice spot all the same.

Good for sport on the TV (impossible to miss all the screens) but the student crowd can dominate.

Unremarkable. Serves White Horse and Brakspears' IPA. I ordered one and got the other after the very affable barman mysteriously went out the back to pour it. There are lots of games for the punter to play. I went and sat outside. The food I ordered was expensive and consisted of a Shepherd's Pie that tasted shop bought and some frozen vegetables thawed by boiled water. It is quite spacious inside. Cricket was on the TV, but not too obtrusively. 'Probably Oxford's Best Kept Secret' - errr, no.

Pretty good neighbourhood local in studenty East Oxford, aimed at a younger clientele. Real ale available. No complaints.

Bit too sloaney and better pubs in the area.

Bright airy student and local friendly. Fantastic menu, try the Steak Baguetes or the home made pies.
3 real ales always on lots of choice of lagers.
Lovely "hidden" garden area in the summer.
