Clean pub, very quiet when I went in.
Not one real ale on, a downpoint in my opinion, however the owner said he had just taken over the pub and would look into it in the future. Got to have a real ale if your going to call yourself the beer house!!
Nicely looked after Stella. Would give this place another chance.

great landlord pity about the people he has let in but i can understand why with the trade and the way it is.

popped in this pub - but it was dead - just one bloke sat in corner - no real atmosphere - shame really as it looks like it could be a real good place

Once saw a gut thrown through the window around 1994, so when I started drinking in pubs, never went it!

Excellent pub! Landlord and Landlady very friendly, always willing to find time for a chat to make you feel welcome. Good live music most weekends or some sort of entertainment. Clean and tidy. Must say ...have had some fun evenings in there....!! Worth the visit.

the black sambuka has been the same price for 18 months since it has been in the pub while all the other beers and spirit have gone up. at the end of the day the person complaing about the price does not have to drink it and if that is all he has to complain about should maybe use another pub which might be cheaper.
disco_dave - 31 Jul 2007 10:09
The black sambuka is 20p more than the clear for some reason so that must mean coca-cola, guiness and liquorice papers are more expensive than normal.

since the landlord came here 3years ago he has changed the pub right round. he got rid of the drug dealers and trouble makers and turned it into a respectable pub again. he keeps a good pint and has live music on at the weekends. keep up the good work

Landlord is a bit funny and they regularly put their prices up. The internal posters are always spelt wrong and gramatically incorrect but apart from that the beer is fine and they have a monthly Jazz night which is quite popular.
