Awwww really miss this place xx My Mum and Dad used to have this place when it was The Chiltern, back in its heyday in 80's. I learnt to pull my first perfect pint here by the time I was 3! With the locals wingeing about the noise.....(well durrrr it was a pub/club!) They turned it into the now eating/ carvery establishment it is today. Hmmmmm!!!!

If you like a good atmosphere with your drink, DON'T go here as its like a morgue, a very expensive morgue at that! The barmaid who served us was "the barmaid from hell" Will NEVER drink here again even if the beer was free!

reasonable boozer. lager was nice enough, maybe a touch on the expensive side especially with the mulberry bush just a few yards down the road. furniture was in good condition, a few sofas around the bar. maybe a bit of a 'locals' hang out, we got a few outsider looks, as it were!

Been back to this pub with a couple of friends, the food was great but the smoke in the bar area is dreadful. You need smog masks to stay more than a few minutes! Why oh why can't they put the extractors on as thats what they are there for.

wOw...this pub has the best looking barmaid in Bedfordshire, Heather! mind you her partner is a bit hairy tho ;-)....I reckon the younger barman Peter should hold back on smoking those large cigars whilst serving customers behind the bar.
The food is great but the chef becomes rather scarey when he wields his BIG carving knife at people whilst asking for customer comments.
Entertainment nights are really cool as most of the customers turn up in different guises ie cross dressing, and mingle with other regulars to the tunes of Tom Jones...so i'm really looking forward to tonights 'Rod Stewart' think i'll wear the short skirt and go commando!!

New management-wow!What a difference new blood makes! The pub is clean and their attitude is refreshing! Very friendly! Great ales, food is fantastic and great value for money{ Steak Night was superb!!!} Entertainment seems like a new word to this pub....and just what it needed-always entertaining! To date VVVVVV impressed. Keep up the good work guys looking forward to the carvery and Rod Stuart Night!!!!

I have recently been to this pub, and am pleased to say that although the long haired bar man was there he was talking and much friendlier, although his boyfriend didn't appear to be there, and he is also getting his hair cut off for charity in the near future. I am sure he has had a talking too because the change was for the better.
I like this pub a lot and have started to use it a lot more, as the new management, and other bar staff are great, and food is fab, especially the carvary.

Revisited this pub and pleased to say its under new management, YIPPEE! A lot cleaner and good food but the only drawback is the ignorant barman is still there, a young, long haired male who NEVER speaks! He never tells you how much the round is and puts change in your hand and walks off, rude pig. We know he can talk as he talks to his boyfriend ok!

Got to say I agree with ronald. This place has gone right down, full of chavs and chavettes. I shan't be back...

We have been to this pub a few times, plenty of room but very dirty and the manager does nothing but sit around, the only time he goes behind the bar is to serve himself! Lovely restaurant but its closed by 8pm, whats the point of that? If you try to book a seat in restaurant the manageress bite your head off! Also, large bar with only ONE bar person on at any time. In urgent need of new management (and a good refurb)

It seems ok for a quick pint, but it also gives the impression that the rule is you must be a bricklayer with a cavalier GSI or a hairdresser with 18 earings.

Nice easy going local pub set back from the busy town pub scene. Good background music, good food, friendly staff. Could do with a good DJ on a Fri/Sat Night Though.

Great pub meeting and chatting the night away, no attitude from the locals and friendly bar staff.

Used to use this pub when visiting my Parents in Dunstable. I liked it quite a lot - large, roomy, good atmosphere but not too busy.
