Hadn't been in here for years (well decades actually) but noticed it in the GBG with a desription of excellent food. Decided to pop in for a Sunday lunch. Food was indeed excellent (including a superb vegetarian choice). Desserts were available in normal sizes for £5.25 and tasters for just £2.25. There were also three well kept local ales too (Adnams, Woodfordes and Old Cannon). Surprised the place wasn't busier.

What a great find! The perfect country pub - great garden, two bars, friendly locals, a wide selection of beers and ales and good food. A good place to stay for a weekend in the country...

This is a really nice little local pub run by a friendly, helpful family. The rooms are comfortable, nicely-decorated and very clean. The food is good, there is a broad selection of options at breakfast and there is an interesting mix of guest ales at the bar. Would recommend it

Recently improved decor, ongoing refurbishments. Beer and food both good, but concentrated on narrow, quality offering. Quiz is popular and cheap, with snacks provided. Good local pub

Really freindly place with good beer from local small breweries and simple but well done food

A very friendly pub run a family thats been there since 1922! Had a couple of guest beers from a local micro brewery when myself and my wife were there, both very good but the rattleston best was my favourite. Also tried one of their pies and mash which was very good. the locals were very welcoming, all in all a lovely pub.
