Three years since the last post - and the place has gone down hill badly. Inept staff, high prices and poor management.

Went in here today. Nice,clean pub the service was very good, you can just sit and be waited on.A good pint and bottle of wine for the wife.

went here the other day nice place lots of offers and clean and tidy, beer was good, seems to have lots going on like poker and solo singer acts at the weekend.

Well done to this pub, they are now serving real ale! Despite the poster outside advertising the range of 4 Brains beers, only Brains SA was on offer. They willingly took the sparkler off the handpump to serve it to me, and it was in good condition. The food menu is upmarket and enticing.

door staff are ok, bar is shit, drinks are watered down and the beer always tastes "odd" .... women are easy though so not too bad a place/....

Christ maybe someone should get some new toys for Christmas and put them back in their pram. This isn't that bad a place although I'll admit i don't frequent it that often. It seems to have suffered a bit since revolutions opened and you can see why, compared to revolutions it's looking a bit tired (for a while it was called long slander due to a broken sign). The last time I was in here it was only me, a friend and the bar staff and we left (me and my friend not the bar staff) after one pint as the fosters tasted a bit dodgy.

Long Island is a friendly and well run establishment. The Door Team are professional and thorough which is why it is one of the safest and most trouble free venues in the area. Sorry Bruno but it sounds to me like you failed to understand the door policy at Long Island. No Identification, No admittance. It is not a matter of age but proof of identity, hence why you aren't asked how old you are but whether or not you have ID as you would have been told. It was never stated as the law but as a police initiative that has been very effective. For example. If you were to have an accident or to be involved in an altercation of some kind inside the venue and there was no one around to identify you, the only way the door supervisors would be able to identify you would be via photographic ID. ie, your driving license or passport.It obviously hasn't failed as you suggested, hence the fact that you had no ID therefore you were unable to enter...enough said. I for one am glad that such measures are being taken to ensure that the customers and staff are able to enjoy themselves in a safe and well run environment and i will continue to choose Long Island as my number 1 night out. Good Music, Good Staff and professional security team.......

Me and a few mates decided to celebrate a birthday party in here last night. Take into account the youngest person in our group was 29. We were all stopped on the door and told that we needed I.D to enter the premises, regardless of what age we were ( The oldest person in the group was 38 ) ???????????
We did not get in based on that!
I was told that "it was the law, and it was being undertaken in Kingston, Morden, and Wimbledon" !!!!!!!
Firstly, can I just state that it is not the Law! I dont think I have ever heard of anything so stupid! The police and government set the law. You have tried to institute a house rule and failed badly!
And what is it about the little doorguy who looks about 15 years old. Is he there to amuse people while they wait in the Q?

my and brother and me,stood in the queue for 10 mins,watching a load 16 to 20 year olds going in with no problem,when it got to our turn to enter one doorman looked at another he nodded and suddenly id was required to get in that night,my bro and me are 6"5 and well built,the doorstaff are a bag of nerves thats why they never wanted us in there,just so you know im 30 and there asking me for id,were mixed race aswell i just hope that never had anything to do with it.

The doorman are all on power trips especially the woman - you don't have to make up for the fact your missing a d**k love! Barmen are fit but the music is cheesy and they need a good DJ. Also they need to stop letting the litten tree loosers in.

Chav friendly so it seems. The actual bar is quite stunning...until you look in the fridge...alcopop and nasty 'cocktail'. Sweet and sour mix was horrible, cream was off!
Went to watch the 'flair comp'. The 'judges' were WASTED and far from qualified enough to rate the likes of Steve Harmen (world championship finalist). None of them can even flair themselves!

typical sutton situation, it does not matter how good the bar is(and it's fairly good), a bar is only made good by the type people that go to it and sutton is full of mindless thugs/tarts.so it's difficult to have a stylish bar/club when the people that are in it are idiots.

Long Island is the best in Sutton. The staff are great and friendly. The music is excellent. Had loads of good nights out in there. Try a comfortable screw against a wall with a kiss! (a cocktail)Thanx to Lol for making our night great!

Quite simply the best bar /nightclub ever has so much to offer and gives you the best party atmosphere imaginable. Nothing is to much trouble for the staff and the dress code is spot on keeping out those not willing to make an effort. Dress to impress its worth it!

Whilst walking home one night I was told I could not enter this place as I had trainers on. I was a little taken aback as I had just finished my shopping at safeways and carrying 4 heavy grocery bags....other than that I did pay 5 quid to enter another night and was told to leave as one of our 12 strong party had the wrong type of footwear.

think long island has got to be the best place in sutton i admit its not hard but the atmosphere is better the staff are wicked even the door staff!!! have always found them polite and helpful cant say they dont do a good job there's hardly any fights in there unlike the rest of sutton! def could do with air conditioning though!

Had a brilliant night here on New Years Eve. Yes the queues can be big at the bar and yes the bouncers are on such a power trip - but the music is cheesy, the cocktail pitchers are fab and the layout is wicked so can't complain!

New place. Ridiculous queues. Bouncers are brainless apes who ask women in their thirties for ID. Expect to wait 20-30 mins to be served on weekend evenings. Possibly it'll improve when the novelty wears off.

If you like a good fight this is the pub for you. Food is the worst a microwave can produce.
It is good for watching big sports events but if the results doesn't go the right way, fights can break out.
