please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

we visited there on a busy sunny Sunday. They have a limited menu but lots to choose from. The roasts were superb, lovely 'real'meal, vegetables not overdone and the whole thing was not swimming in gravy.
I had monkfish which was lovely too as were the crumble desserts.
Great friendly service.
Would go again and think that it has improved since your last reviewer was there

Nice looking pub inside but we felt the food was not good for the very high price.

The fish batter was soggy
The lasagne was tiny, reheated so badly that the pasta was crunchy on the edges and the sause was almost dry.
They need to review their version of what a salad is too!!
Also the menu says the the service charge is not included but it is...beware.

a poor experience.

I have had several meals at the Harrow Inn and have enjoyed excellent food and friendly service. The menu seems to focus on local and season produce wherever possible. The presentation of the food is always inspired. We keep going back again and again. Better than many other pubs and restaurants in the area.

This pub has always been known as the poor mans Withies the food here is not a patch on pubs in nearby villages so i would just keep on driving but miss out Puttenham.

A smarmy welcome at this pub got us off to a bad start when we visited today. If you want a 'gastro' pub then this is for you although I'm not sure whether the pub is suffering from an identity crisis note: a large tv screen, a bhudda, far eastern sculptures, pictures of boxers along with high quality paper napkins and large square plates. Not a pub I would return to by choice as the BAR food was over-priced and not particularly appetizing. Can't comment on the RESTAURANT food - maybe that's better?

I had always thought of this as an overpriced pub for the "Blue Rinse Brigade", and was pleased to note that it has been overhauled recently.......until I went there today!

Nothing wrong with the coffee, which we came for as the Tea Shop at Watts Gallery was unexpectedly closed. All three tables we were presented with needed a good clean....which they didn't get. The sandwich menu looked inviting, if a little pricey, but as the emphasis was on good quality food, I did't mind paying a little extra.

Dear oh dear oh DEAR!!

I was offered a choice of brown or white, bread or floured bap for my chosen filling.....foolishly I choose floured bap, which had no more seen flour than a plastic sponge. This was cold and soggy, and had clearly (jolly nearly) been defrosted. Had the bacon and brie not been hot inside, I wouldn't have been surprised to find a lump of ice. In a photo comparison with a Big Mac....this "Floured Bap" should have been described as "Flawed Pap".....it was disgusting. The whole was presented on a huge, heavy square plate, with a bag of crips, and a surprisingly good quality paper napkin. Not so much "Cordon Bleu" as "Gordon Blimey!" I felt I would have had a more satifying texture if I had eaten the napkin.

The chips looked more appetising, but very large, and far too hot, burning the roof of my mouth. I asked for a glass of tap water, which was provided, but with a very disapproving air.

For the airs and graces it swanks, the gents was very agricultural. I suppose that is appropriate with The Harrow name, but very unsatisfactory for a pretentious "Gastro-Effect Pub". The air-blowing hand-dryer, blew luke warm air for a few seconds, cutting out at every movement of my hands. I was very tempted just to wipe my hands on the curtains......

I won't waste any more time ranting on with this review, other than to say I found this and expensive and "Harrowing" experience, and I shall not be returning to this "Pub" until it starts to provides appropriate quality and service for the prices it charges.

Have eaten here several times now and find the food to be the best in the area, good quality, good price and good service, without the typical pub stench of cooking oil.
Highly recommended

Final posting on this pub, not a patch on the Good Intent at Puttenham but better than many locally.

Good food and a nice place - agreed overshadowed by The Withies down the road but still good on its own merit.

Harrowmans ploughmans excellent !

Friendly pub, made to feel welcome by the staff. Food is very good and very reasonably priced. Would recommend to any-one, under new ownership.

Poor man`s Withies.Needs a good clean.

Overpriced in all respects for what it is, if you are a visitor and want the best at reasonable prices then go 2.5 miles up the road to Puttenham and you will find a pub called the Good Intent.
