This place is now called the Queen's Arms and is a much nicer plce for it. The staff are really friendly and the food upstairs is great. Nice steaks and burgers amongst other things.

And they serve deuchars which is always a bonus

Has recently been re-named and re-fitted. Think it is now called The Queen's Arms but will check, and hopefully try out. Can't yet confirm whether the Thai restaurant is still upstairs.

Sat down in there this evening to watch the Wales match, only for four tourists to arrive 15 minutes later demanding to watch Italy vs. France. The barman gave into them. Apparently, the contribution that tourists can make to this pub in one evening is more important to its coffers than a local looking for a new place to drink can make for it in a lifetime. Two stars for having the match on in the first place instead of MTV, News 24, The X Factor, The Last Night of the Proms or nothing at all like the other pubs in the neighbourhood, and for at least having the decency to refund my money. Won't be going there ever again, though.

Having eaten in the upstairs Thai restarant a number of times, I finally got round to having a drink in the bar on Saturday night.

Very friendly and helpful barman, although they only had one proper beer on (according to my boyfriend)- I think it was Pride - but it seemed to go down well. My glass of sauv. blanc was fine, but it was a very expensive round.

Food in the restaurant was great, as always, and served by helpful, friendly and efficient staff.

This place seems to be a much better restaurant than a pub.

I had some excellent Thai food here last night. Then stayed drinking for a couple of hours, the little atmosphere it has is quite pleasant...

Average, Average, Average !!

Enough said i think !!

I've been drinking in this pub since it became a Slug and Lettuce (The Royal Gardener, as it was before, was a real dive!), always found the staff and locals friendly (No, my name is NOT Henrietta!)

Love the addition of the Thai restaurant. Food is great and so is the chef.
iamthesun - 16 Nov 2005 17:53
Full of the rugby shirt and slacks brigade. Too many Henrietas and Tarquins for my liking and too bloody expensive
icedragon72 - 17 Apr 2005 19:22
yea i'm bang into the page at the moment. big screen for the football which is rare in 'toria. half decent atmos in here for the chelsea v bayern game the other night.

think i got barred from here years ago, not sure.

oh yeah the food ain't all it's cracked up to be; why are people still losing their minds about thai pub grub?

This is the best pub in Pimlico - nice atmosphere, always busy and friendly. Did a great effort on New Years as well - also not pricey in terms of London and esp SW1. Good thai food too!
benjamin22 - 7 Apr 2005 15:59
Frequented by drunken memebers of LITT5. Other than that quite alright!
Robbo73 - 3 Mar 2005 21:07
The best thing about the pub is the excellent Thai food; the pub is ok for young folks I suppose but far from my favorite.
Tburrows - 4 Feb 2005 18:06
I am one of those plastic people who want to pick up and I think the place is FAB.
Great staff and run by the most professional woman I have ever seen.
Bar is always busy with the "IN" crowd....Isabella and Cannon, you obviously are not!
milliemoo - 22 Jan 2005 19:17
Cannon you are so right about this pub. I can never understand why it has become 'trendy'....I would of thought that would need some class. Full of plastic people who want to pick up but settle for leering instead and thats just the suits. The restaurant upstairs is much better. Isabella.
isabella - 10 Jan 2005 19:38
I HATE THIS PUB. over priced drink, snotty bar staff, snotty customers.... do actually people think its trendy to pay stupid money to be seen in this pub.only problem is my friends meet here...

Was really impressed with the Thai restaurant. Superb food and very good service, will definitely come again!

Really nice pub - good atmosphere, but can get too crowded. Beer is good, and the restaurant upstairs is a hidden gem in the area - great food, relaxed and quiet, with a good wine list. Nice staff throughout, and 10 times better than the Hedghog a few doors down!
Jamie - 29 Mar 2004 12:49
I remember when that Rod guy used to work there. He is why the beer was bad back then, it was his job to keep it clean ...and thats why he got the sack...sour grapes fella.
Good pub . Check out the new look Thai resta-ronte
NIGELLA BITES BACK - 23 Feb 2004 18:58
One of the better pubs in the Pimlico/Victoria area. Surprisingly nice Thai Restuarant upstairs - especially welcome after a few beers!
Bill - 6 Feb 2004 16:14
Limited choice of beer but some good wines and better than average Thai food. Reccomend upstairs restaurant. Friendly staff - uncluttered decor. BUT.. watch your bag (friend had his nicked while drinking at tables outside)
RA - 4 Feb 2004 12:04
fantastic pub!! bar staff are brilliant, especially the brown haired aussie chick-total riot!
gets packed during football games but has an excellent atmosphere.
jamie - 2 Jan 2004 16:30
Good friendly staff, due to it's popularity it gets more packed then Victoria tube station during rush hour! If you can tolerate this, go for it! Food is great and I would recommend the restaurant upstairs, no extra charge and pleasant dining. One word of warning, watch your bags, especially on a friday night!
anonymous - 9 Dec 2003 19:21
busy but uninspired inside & the beer is very badly kept
rod - 21 Nov 2003 20:05
good place to watch big footie games. quite central. a bit 'local'

JP - 24 Oct 2003 11:49
okish. not much selection of beer. great thai food. too popular with local office people to be interesting.
pete - 22 Sep 2003 23:44
I LIKE THE WAY THEY RIG THE RAFFLES!!!keep the prices high to keep out the rif raf and get their mates to vote for them(shannon)on this site..RA RA
eamon - 16 Sep 2003 07:53
Great place for dinner parties. The restaurant and pub are two completely different worlds. If you want a vibrant crowd for sports/drinks, stay downstairs. If you want to escape busy London, go upstairs for a thai where the cozy mood is set by candles as you walk up the stairs and a warm light-oak paneled restaurant with amazing art (done by the chef!). There are two ladies who work there who are particularily charming. Ask for Kellie or Jacqui.
Shannon - 11 Sep 2003 18:18
Nearly as good as the Raging Page in Ricmond. Sassy landlady. Well worth a visit. Be sure to buy a bottle of Bolli... and the Thai food is great.
Wilbur - 11 Sep 2003 16:38
No comments on the pub downstairs but the Thai restaurant upstairs is GREAT! Loads of choice over and above your standard Pad Thai etc, with helpful staff and appealing decor.
Jenny R - 4 Aug 2003 14:31
Nice place, lively atmosphere and very friendly barstaff. The stairs leading to the toilets are a death trap though ! tough to negotiate after a few scoops..
BK - 16 Jun 2003 15:47
great food but quit expensive, to many football fans
lisa - 7 Jun 2003 17:26
this pub serves very nice and tasty food. The best one in Pimlico area.
B.T. - 3 Jun 2003 12:25
Meet my mates here most Friday's for a sess. Other than prices can't fault.
Gary - 28 Apr 2003 12:41
The Thai food is great and the restaurant upstairs is nice, bright & airy. One of best puba around Pimlico (certainly better than Old Monk - NEVER GO THERE!)...
Bobby banana - 25 Apr 2003 16:24
Used to be OK when it was the first Slug & Lettuce in London (not a lot of people know this), but dreadful now.
robin - 24 Mar 2003 13:54
Young crowd, big screen TV and a good selection of beers - both bottle and on tap!
Scott Hay - 1 Aug 2002 11:37
This is my favourite Pub in the Victoria area. Light, airy, good decor, great Thai pub grub.
