June 2009 - Still boarded up, there is a builders notice on the outside stating "acquired for clients", but that's been there for 2 years, heard that student flats will be built on the site. But when ?

I have a soft spot for this pub. The bar staff are smiley and friendly, and there is a good atmosphere in the pub: people keep going back so you soon recognise faces and it gets busy when there's a match on... Thursday night is karaoke night and the staff can sing! Drinks are cheap (�1.20 for half a cider, �2 for a vodka and coke) and the food is tasty - and very reasonably priced! I feel very welcome here.

It sells itself as somwhere to whatch the footy, not to enjoy a pint. It's generally a bit dark, with seating arranged to emphasise the view of the screens. It barely even selss real ales.
