It's your typical trendyesque bar. Picture people on their iPhones wearing a trilby and a scarf indoors, and you've almost got The Sunflower Lounge. Very poor selection of drinks (no ales), and expensive if you're looking for a drink.
If however, you're looking for a quiet place in the afternoon for an average drink and to listen to some top top music, this place is for you. One of my recent visits on a Friday afternoon had me bombarded with all kinds of classics ranging from The Beatles, to The Who, to Led Zep, Jimi Hendrix, The Small Faces and The Rolling Stones. I was in heaven....
....then I stayed there a little while longer, the music went louder and clubbier, and the clientele became more fashionable. Try and leave before this point. They do make an effort for a variety of evening activities in their defence. Nights include quizzes, films, live bands and DJs. They also promote Sky Sports, although the times I've been in there the sound is often off.
Overall, not a good pub, but a good music bar.

So if you�ve read the previous comments you�ll have realised this is an INDIE BAR. Nails down a chalk board to some and a sheer utopia to others. Now my style is pretty boring and defiantly not indie in any way but I can easily enjoy what this venue has to offer. They sell a wide variety of drinks including the rare and outstanding desperados which I suggest you try when you go it�s impressive in every way. The music isn�t strictly indie all the time they play a good variety styles, the underground part of the place usually hosts live bands. The staff were very nice to talk too and look at (had to be said) if a bit slow. But its not 100% their fault, the bar is stupidly small even for the size of the venue and I don�t just mean in length, in depth too, they can barely move behind there. Yes it�s full of indie style folks but if that�s not your usual taste when it comes to the opposite sex trust me give it a go, you�ll get a nice surprise. Enough said.

Despite the surfeit of polka dot dresses and skinny ties (it's not 2002 anymore!!), a very underrated establishment. Surprisingly wide and variable selection of on tap, knowledgable resident and guestDJs, and a short stagger from the train station. Thumbs up

as previous reports have said, it's a good bar with decent music etc, just a shame about the punters really. Can't people just enjoy themselves without having to try so very hard to be uber indie?? the whole point of indie to begin with... oh, whats the point??

Nice bar but completley full of posers trying to out-do each other in indie-ness. Good range of alternative draught beers though.

Could be a great pub - the music is excellent but the clientele are pretentious to the point of distraction.
Great if you were born in the eighties, have no ideas of your own and want to wear period costume, pretend you're a mod and think you're a bit ironic and alternative.
Rubbish otherwise.

The greatest Indie pub in the world. No. Quite good though especially when people turn up dressed as the Beatles riding scooters. "Hello my names Ringo". Oh please. Charming bar staff and good music give this place an edge. Its also well hidden and that keeps away the great unwashed. Thumbs up overall but drop the pretence. The 60s ended...well...35 years ago.
