Used to go here a few years ago. Man has it changed!

Popped along to the open mic night out of curiosity. Really surprised. The new management have done wonders with the venue. Really nice music, lovely atmosphere and the price of a pint was the best I've found in Tottenham/Wood Green.

Lovely stuff. I'll be back!

What a great venue! I love this pub! Took a bit of a trip there after the Spurs/Newcastle game last Sunday. Really great atmosphere, the landlord was a right laugh. Two projectors in there showing the highlights and the drinks were cheap too (for London). Been back this week and they just got a new foosball table in. I think I've found my new favourite pub in Tottenham. Apparently they've started live music every Saturday too.

i had to laugh about posh people in peabody, i used to live there..lol...
as for the elmurst pub, i can comment on what it used to be, used to have bands there good pool table who i beat a few men, one man i beat broke his pool cue as he was so mad...but it used to be a good friendly pub lots of people and good beer..
i feel the most about a pub is a good friendly atmosphere and not forgetting good beer...
im glad to see the elmhurst is still going.
as for looking for a pub to holiday in, this is not the place i must admit...lol

Over that way they put the black folk over the Farm and the posh white council folk over Risley in posh Peabody little shit box houses. God love the 70's.

The Elmhurst is a stand alone brick and mock Tudor corner pub situated opposite Bruce Green Castle. Despite the Hotel title, it is geared up as a sports pub rather than a place to book for your holidays. The main bar is of a decent size with an ornate plastered ceiling seemingly propped up by 1 thin column in front of the bar. The rest of the decor is fairly plain although the tiled fireplace, heavy curtains and hanging brass lights give it a slight edge of decadence. It is let down by the number of cheap promo drink posters liberally stuck on the walls. There is a TV, big screen, fruit machines, cash machine and jukebox situated here and beyond is a small ante room with dark paneling, 2 dart boards and its own little serving hatch. The prices are fairly cheap but there are no Real Ales and only the bog standard lager and keg beer selections. Away from the bar is a huge games room with 4 pool tables and enough TVs to satisfy any sports fan. There is a large terrace to the rear for al fresco drinking in the warmer months. The pub gets packed when Spurs are at home and at weekends there is the usual range of tacky pub entertainment. Not a place I would go out of my way for but you could do a lot worse if you in the area.
