Greene King IPA & Abbott, kept well enough. Good pub for watching football, several TVs & plenty of different vantage points. Tends to avoid the worst of Sutton's yoof drinking brigade.

Generally OK. Nothing majorly attractive apart from it being an escape from the hell holes in Sutton on a weekend.
|
Well looks good from the outside. thats all it has going for it. John the landlord is extremely rude and unhelpful. He likes to stand outside with the bouncers on weekend nights and kick of at anyone he wants to. A-Hole. Had some great barstaff over the years, Fran and Richard come to mind, the others were not that great.

When it first opened with new manager he couldnt wait to serve you now he is in his circle and doesnt move!! i give him another year.. service way way too slow..

Not so sure about tearing the roof off but the band they had in there the other week made me want to tear my ears off and they're not even the worst they've had. What's happened to the pub bands, there used to be some good ones out there but they're missing in action these days.

I used to be the manager of this pub when it was the hogshead dec99'-aug'03. visited with my old supervisor last week and found it to be ok.loads of staff and fairly clean.toilets were untouched by time. didnt have the 10 casks i used to but still an ok choice for a town centre pub

Having 'torn the roof off the place' at the weekend, ROAD DOG JACKSON are back at the Sutton Arms on Dec 2nd and also New Years Eve, so book your NYE tickets now.

Do like this pub but why o why did you have to get rid of the excellent Jukebox after the refurb

THIS PUB IS NOW CALLED "THE SUTTON ARMS".
John, the new landlord, once ran 'Scruffy Murphys' just across Sutton High Street. He's given the pub a facelift, brand new decor and it's looking pretty good now.
To launch the pub properly, Saturday 19th August sees ROAD DOG JACKSON play there. This popular 6 piece have been a favourite at the pub for quite a while, and it promises to be hell of a night.

Old beer range gone, now standard Greene King fare - IPA & Speckled Hen. OK, but not enough to draw me there on a regular basis.
|
Apparently, Saturday 25th March sees something extremely exciting happening at The Nonsuch Arms.
ROAD DOG JACKSON (www.roaddogjackson.com) are playing there for the first time. See venue for times.
Having such a huge following, it should be a great night.

Beer is variable, occasionally good, mostly not. Smokey, tables dirty, sticky, smell of stale beer. Most of the staff are efficient, I wouldn't say freindly. Its dark and cramped, I don't like it.

Lovely place, only been there a few times.
|
The pub is ok, service is slow and drinks are expensive.
An "OK" place but would not bother too often!

Its very acceptable apart from the lary barman with the skinhead & eyebrow ring with a bad attitude. Busy cleaning when theres a queue of people waiting for a drink and then has a go at me for smoking at the bar! And continued to glare at me all night!

Only went to this place once or twice. The downstairs is ratehr cramped. Typical chain pub, not much special there.

Polite landlord - friendly 'adult' custom. Very few of Sutton's tattooed lobotomised inbreds drink in here.

The opening the door thing is true - utter wankers. Spoils what is otherwise a pretty good place to drink. It doesn't work in the summer months though so at least the customers win at that time of year!

Pretty good place, decent bitter but gets really busy. They have a habit of opening their doors a 11:05 on cold evenings to get rid of people which ticks me off no end. They are generally pretty rude about if as well if challenged and so one has to sit their with coat on and finish pint as slowly as possible.

Not a bad pub, second only to the Old Bank. Good atmosphere, it IS clean and can get busy, but you'll usually get a seat on a weekend night after about half an hour. Typically frequented by sad'os in their late twenties and thirties...so that suits me!

Dirty pub. Don't put your mobile phone down on the table, it'll never come off again.
