Really like The Summerfield. Friendly staff/Landlord, good mix of crowd from young to old. As an alehead there is not a massive selection in that respect, but the Doom Bar/Bombardier is always well kept. Overall a very good local to have for either a quiet afternoon weekend beer, or meeting up with friends for after work drinks and a game of pool.

Going to this pub is like hearing the beatles for the first time. Good beer, good staff, and always good times.

A great old fashoned street corner local.
Loads of forthcoming attractions advertised at the bar. Rooms to stay upstairs, a decent pint of Youngs and a stunning and efficient bar maid.
If you havn't visited can thouroughly recommend the Summerfield.
Do they still hold the Tuesday night quizes?

Nice pub, lively at the weekend, smells of farts in the wekk due to the mainly male customer base.

A nice change. Popped in here last night for a couple of pints. My local is the Crown but have been disappointed with it of late so fancied a change. The Guinness was very good but I was disappointed with the Ale available. A down-to-earth pub, and seeing as it was our first time in there, we were made to feel very welcome. 7 out of 10. (you can even get a bed for the night!)

its prob is the best pub in Lee to be fair
Ray the guvnor does a good job
Great new DJ on Saturday nights
Really enjoyed the tunes
popped in for a quick one on a tuesday and found they had a quiz on which made a change
the barmaid was very nice and think she is from eastern europe (stunning as well)
you could do far worse than pop your head in
even got a chinese takeaway next door
all in all
very good, gets a 7 from me
toilets too small but does the job I guess

After reading the review by topdog_andy I thought I would give this pub a bash. He is right it is a good traditional local. Friendly locals that do speak to you. I played the quiz Buzztime in their and it was great fun, what a refreshing change to find entertainment that doesnt cost to join in. Mind you I ended up staying for 4 beers instead of the 1 or 2 I planned on. Didnt win any quizzes but will definitely go back, great pub, great atmosphere and great fun!

Wow! In a snit last night because Sky took all their channels away from NTL (sorry...."Virgin Media") and I couldn't watch the latest Rescue Me episode, the missus and I decided to check out The Summerfield for the first time. Previously if we went for a drink up Burnt Ash Hill, we'd go to The Crown, but now that the Young's boycott is in full-flow, that's no longer an option (so much rage for such a young man...........)

Anyway, I was delighted we finally checked it out, and saddened that we hadn't been there before after living around the area for 2 years. The pub is a delight. A great, friendly landlord who welcomed us like we were regulars, customers who actually talk to each other, and Buzztime trivia! When I lived in Canada, I was virtually addicted to this game in it's "NTN" guise (essentially a trivia game you play with a remote device, that let's you compete against others in the pub and the nation in general). Not quite as exciting here, as it looks like there's only 16 other pubs that have it compared to the thousands your compete against in North America, but still a lot of fun, and a good excuse to stay in the pub. Shame I got beat two out of three games by the smartie-pants fiancee.

It's not the cheapest pub (about 3.10 a Guinness), or the best furnished (it's an old-school boozer with the traditional poster-board ads for their quiz night & trips to the races and peeling wallpaper), or the best stocked (only Young's on handpull...ARRRRRRRRRRRRRGH!), but just the welcoming feel of the pub makes the gripes seem inconsequential. The place is small-to-medium sized, but they've got the Buzztime trivia, a pool table, a jukebox, Cask Marque standard.....you can tell it's the kind of place where the landlord will do whatever he can to please his customers and give them what they want. I'll definitely be coming here again.

Nice pub and a great friendly atmosphere
Rick the guvnor is a nice bloke and does a great quiz on a Tuesday night 9pm start.
Has improved since my last visit last year when it seemed like a wild west saloon.
Dont know what its like on a friday or Saturday night but as for midweek great stuff.
Bar staff were very friendly as well
Parking is via side roads you always seem to find a space.
All in all, Give it a bash........

I visited this pub a few weeks back. It has a great atmosphere, freindly locals and shows football on numerous TV's around the bar. They also had a quiz programme showing on the TV's when I was there. We were playing against people in other pubs via some sort of network using handsets. It was called Buzztime. I for one will be going back to play again.

Good pub, Good atmosphere, Great Beer.

Brilliant pub, I think must be under new management since the previous comments were made, the Landlord couldn't have been more welcoming, good crowd in here, a typical South East London pub thats been maintained properly.

Agree with all the above.
The landlord is very scary; he started prodding at the cloth on the pool table (showing someone how loose it was) when me and a mate were playing, but I chose not to complain.
A must!

Cracking pub, great jukebox, pool table, good beer, good atmos and a half decent hard bastard landlord who scares all the arseholes away.
