Decent pub, large smoking area/beer garden to the rear. Of the ales on I partook of Otter 'Aussie Summer', a pleasant ale.

Good old fashioned boozer just outside the City Centre. One large room with comfortable seating. Very clean. Beer excellent, staff friendly, locals chatty. Well worth a visit for a quiet pint.

Nobody has mentioned the live music on Friday and Saturday! Great venue for bands, extremely friendly landlord (a musician himself) and good selection of real ales - only managed the Hobgoblin myself. Should be supported. Use it or lose it.

Free standing brick and half-timbered building, with a long and tidy bar room, with a little area for darts. Very quiet when we visited, but friendly enough. The bogs were in a bit of a scruffy state. A standard place really.
Usual beer, with three handpulls; Marstons Pedigree, Brakspear Gold i think and Banks's MILD, which was fine.
Wouldnt go out of my to go, but with Feathers and George & Dragon on same road, would visit again

Old-fashioned Victorian pub full of old-fashioned Victorians. Decent meals at the back. Great beers.

This is a good pub, tucked away on the outskirts of town.Worth a visit.

A great old pub, quite a way from the town centre, but worth the effort! Virtually untouched victorian interior, and very good ales, including guest beers.
