Went here with relatives (one of whom is a veggie) for dinner after we found that Ye Olde Two Brewers has closed (for the time being). The food took a while to arrive but when it did it was very good indeed and the drink was pretty decent. This is an out-of-the-way place but in its present incarnation it is worth seeking out. 7/10

There is a lot good about this pub. Decent ale, decent food.
Despite allowing dogs there were none in so we stayed for lunch. It was good.
This pub is well worth trying if you can.

Went in last week, excellent pint of Wychwood "The Dog's B*ll*cks", although I do wonder why a pub for grown ups would put that pump clip on it's bar!!

Re-opened after refurb, never went in before so can't compare. Called in today, Sunday Lunch. Excellent pint of Hobgoblin, Ringwood best also on handpump.
With a large diet coke & bag of crisps, 4-40 ish. Average price for Dorset. Friendly staff. My daughter tells me the Ladies Toilet was clean & tidy!! Will be back.

called last Friday (re-opening day) at 5-30pm. Doesn't open 'till 6pm, so I went and spent my hard earned cash at The Mitre! Their loss.

Pub is due to re-open Friday 30th Sept. Let's hope the new people can succeed where others have failed!

there was a report in the local paper about how the landlady was the youngest ever and how great that was and look at all the big plans and ideas for the pub.

6 months-ish later gone out of business.

Pub i gather is going to be re-opened, don't know when.

This pub has just been taken over by Louise, who is the most charming Landlady you could ever wish for.

The place has been cleaned up, the bad "old lot" no longer go here nad Louise has lots of good ideas to improve it.

We liked the place a lot.

basic, no-nonsense pub. popular with the local builders in early evening (what pub isn't?).
only had GK IPA, so a poor mark on the ale front.

Great since it has been refurbed - good beer garden and welcoming atmosphere

Good to see John Liddy as Landlord music nights once a month are lively

This pub has been a fantastic pub for the last 14 years-i would no as i used to live there!!! Now I beleive it has become a resturant which is actually what it used to be when we first came so im sure it'll be just as good and good luck to the new owners!!!

An alright pub for the 18-30's, and its one of the two pubs decent enough to drink in, in Shaftesbury! :o)
