Conveniently located directly opposite the station, this consists of two bars with quite different characters. The smaller bar along to the right has more of a public bar feel to it, with a plasma on the wall showing the football and a group of guys whose language left something to be desired. By 9:00pm it seemed to have closed as the shutters were down on the bar.

The larger and more prominent bar on the corner has more of a hotel lounge feel to it, and offers little in the way of any character but its not unpleasant and would no doubt suit some people. Its quite contemporary, and I daresay recently refurbished with pine wooden flooring, suede armchairs, beige paintwork, pictures on the walls and a trendy backdrop to the bar with a display of wine bottles and coloured down-lighters. Behind this is a dining room.

Beers on tap were Abbeys Bellringer and Greene King IPA. Ciders were Aspalls Suffolk and Thatchers Gold.

Expensive, no atmosphere, but when your train is delayed by 30 mins (a common occurence!) it comes in useful. Or you could sit with the drunks on the church steps by the homeless hostel and have a swig of their sherry or white ligntning!

Just opposite the station so cannot argue with the location. Has the feel of a 1980'2 Holiday camp, so a little on the old fashioned side. Fair play though, they showed the FA Cup Final and selection of beers not too bad.

More of a hotel bar than a pub with a hotel attached. Cant really recommend it over Baths other excellent pubs but handy for a last pint before getting the train if youve got 15 minutes to spare.

It's alright I suppose, if you are on your way to and from the Rec and don't wish to spend too much time with the locals. Reasonable.

Yeah not bad for a pint when waiting for a train if you dont want to be ripped off on the station

Attached to a hotel (surprise) this is the nearest bar to the train station. Is quite well hidden away in the hotel, but is actually quite a cool little bar as not many people know about it.

The above refers to the Sports bar..
