DANNY FOLEY is now landlord of The White Horse, about two hundred yards away

From the outside this looks like a nice cosy traditional pub and stepping inside, the initial impression is much the same, with dark wood panelling and frosted glass partitions. But once you're past the first bar, the pub opens out into a huge, empty area - not a table or chair in sight, just a juke box and fruit machine plus a few bar stools.
The right hand side of the pub presumably used to be a separate room and was sign-posted as the 'private bar'. There was minimal seating this side, plus a pool table.
No ale was apparent when I entered, just some standard lagers, Boddingtons and Strongbow, but having orded my pint and walked round to the other side of the bar, I spotted a pump with a Bombadier clip, which may or may not have been in use.
Clearly stripped of all furniture to deal with large football crowds, there was nothing to keep me here on a normal weekday other than the terrible weather outside. Unimpressed.

It seems a little strange that when I click the orange daisyg94 to see all comments made by daisyg94 about other reviiews of pubs they all mention DJ TOXIC, Ah I know why...Because it is DJ TOXIC...lol ;-)

This pub has been my local for many years & I have seen it go down but under the new management things seem to be picking up. Nice decor & furniture, Sky TV and sometimes music is provided on Friday or Saturday night. Good DJ's playing good music; I think they were called Toxic !
Reasonable prices but sometimes the girls behind the bar need to put a smile on their faces.

The pub has it click of hoarse racing fans that trundle from the bookie and back again to sup and watch the races. Big screen Sky TV and some smaller sets around the bar. Quiz machine, fruit machines, darts and pool.

RE: The Selhurst Arms

I have been in the Selhurst Arms many times and since the new management took over a few years back the pub decor, atmosphere and overall running has vastly improved. The management always try to do the best they can for the locals ie: Putting on family Fun Day's ,charity days,Disco's,Karaoke etc. World Cup Football is awesome here and you will not find a better safer pub in the local area to watch the World Cup than the selhurst.

Also even if the manager is due in court, Does it really need to be said on here? Someone obviously has a personal problem with the manageer and needs to realise this website is for reviewing the pub itself and not the management

10/10 - Fantastic Well Run Family Pub.

Very nice pub

I honestly could not stand the place. I thought the beer was horrible and the Landlord tries to be very intimidating. It is a nice, big pub, but other than that I really can't see anything going for it. Until the staff learn to be a bit more friendly I won't be going back.

Felt very intimidated when i visited this pub. It is well decorated and a large space but this the only good point for this pub.
I was served an awful pint of fosters which was flat!
Seems quite a young person's pub and i spotted alot of young adults(Mainly due to a college within a few mins walk)

On the whole very dissappointed with my visit.

I went to this place a few years back and promised myself never to go back again but I kept hearing great things about the Karaoke Night so I went to this place a few weeks back on a Karaoke Night and must say I was pleasantly surprised by the great atmosphere, Friendy Staff and Customers & the quality of the beer cant go every week due to work but must say will go back.
