a nice pub with great bar staff , cheap beer , and a good range of ales and good atmosphere. gets really busy on friday and saturdays with a good mixture of people. been using this place quiet regular in the last 6 months. food ok. nice large beer garden at the rear , good size car park too. all in all i rate this pub 9/10

Recall this as inviting from the outside and vibrant inside, full of young people. There's worse places around!

If you're 'not local', forget about this place. Stood waiting tonight for what seemed like a lifetime to get served; meanwhile, regulars were coming in and getting dealt with straight away by the two sour-faced lads behind the bar :-( Eventually lost the will to live and took my custom elsewhere. [Have to say though that I do normally get attentive service from the two girls who work here at other times.] The so-called manager of this place needs to have a word!

This used to be a really lively pub, You couldn't move in the place when the young lad used to run it. Now nobody seems to care and it shows.

Still not a great place to be. No decent ales on offer, and the fact they are doing a free raffle on Saturday nights with a prize of 100 of vouchers to spend in the pub sounds like desperation to me. If they can't get the punters in on a Saturday night I dread to think how they are doing during the week..

Didn't really do it for me. Been in a couple of times on a Sunday afternoon and has been quite pleasant. Spitfire was well kept but pub lacks atmosphere except when it's filled up with beered-up youngsters in which case you're better off moving on.

This pub just goes down and down. It's difficult to get served, the bar staff are surly and lazy and the food appalling. Give it a very firm miss !!!

Young's Bitter was pretty good but the food service was diabolical and the food only OK. Decided to try again now non-smoking and advertising new menu. Waited 45 mins for starters, and then only 2 out of 3 arrived. Chased thrird and arrived after ten minutes. Waited another half hour for main corses, again 2 of the 3 ordered arrived. Chased third but gave up when 2 of us had finished. Got money back for third main course and left. We will not go back!!

A boring pub with little to recommend it, best to visit on a sunny day and stay in the garden which is large, but is positioned next to a car park and crossroads- not the most pleasant view. The food is very poor- stick to peanuts and crisps.

This pub is a decent place to drink in terms of value for money and convienence. However, in my opinion the bar staff do not have the first idea about customer service and do not make you feel welcome. It's a shame because the pub could do really well if they did...however if you are drinking in horley i would advise other pubs for better food, atmosphere and service..

not a bad pub, not the best in horley but it is a nice place to have a few drinks and has a friendly atmosphere very close to horley train station so it is appropiatly placed when you are legless and dont fancy a trek to the station!
