Ok if you are not fussy about the food or how long you have to wait. I ordered a meal tor two and after 45 mins had not arrived so I went up to order more drinks and the barman was coming with the meals So I asked it he would mind getting us w drink as our by then warm meal would be cold and he said I would have to get one ay the bar. We finished most of the food and then had our remaining drinks at the Ship Much better and friendly pub

I've been going to the Cricketers for over 4 years and I have to say it's got gradually worse. Admittedly I haven't been since the tail end of last year but when I did last go the patrons were unpleasant and the owner even more so. One recent visit saw the jukebox be "free for the night", but the landlord merely put the music he wanted on and deleted everyone else's selections from the playlist.

Because of all this I've started going to the Romans, much better.

Keep up the spirit!!!

I think that the Cricketers pub in Southwick is the best pub in the world.......Mind you, it's probably been well over 15 years since I went there last.......Oh what great memories of years of drinking with friends in the Cricketers. So, What's happened along the way?!!! Seems like a lot of pommy whingers go there now......not like it use to be.......and what sort of responsible parent takes a 5 year old in the pub anyway???(Get a babysitter).

I remember the five pound mouth watering Sunday Roasts with massive yorkshire puds and loads of roast potatoes, with an assortment of roast veg and delicious tasting gravy.

The Cricketers (as I know it) served the most succulent pub grub meal in the whole of Sussex attracting locals and non locals from all over the place. So come on, MR & MRS PUBLICAN put grace on your face and good grub in your pub and get the real punters in!!!!! You don't need Gordon Ramsay there, just a bit of passion to get the cash in! GOOD LUCK, See you next year

My wife and two friends went to this pub for what they thought would be nice night out with a meal. HOW WRONG THEY WERE The food was of a very poor standard and 2 of the meals came 10 minuets before the 3rd one and even then they were wrong and missing items. After speaking to the manager for some time who by the way was VERY VERY RUDE AND THREATINING thye decided to leave. please tell all your friends about this so called pub and not to go there to eat

i went to the cricketers and the food was a disaster.i would have to agree with you cazlou will never eat there again.my partner had a chicken salad and only had 3 tiny pieces of chicken on and a tiny bit of cheese and a few lettuce leaves.so please if you go there think twice before ordering any food

DO NOT eat here. Had the Sunday Roast - if you can call it that. Meat was tough, gravy was like dirty water, yorkshires were really small (not much bigger than a 50 pence coin), arrived without any pototoes, and then when i did get potatoes, it was one potatoes cut into 4.

The meal was disgusting. Will never eat in there again.

Have since spoken to other people that have eaten in there and they all agree how bad it is.

We had the misfortune to eat at this Pub today..... big adverts about good food & special Mothers day menu etc etc.... it was by far the worst pub meal I have ever had...it ruined Mothers day for both myself & my Mother in law.

We waited over 45 minutes,...yet there was only 3 tables eating....God help them if the had the response the bill boards boasted of.

The Menu was poorly explained...our stuffed trout arrived wrapped in bacon...we don't eat meat.... never mentioned on the boards....pretty foolish as bacon is a meat often not eaten for religious reasons...

Mum in laws meal arrived 10 minutes before ours 1st arrived....with the veg cold, & obviously poor quality frozen....meat looked like a bit of old boot...

but by the time it had arrived....& they had re done ours...... we were so hungry we would of eaten a scabby donkey..... & with small hungry child ,,,we didn't really have the option of telling them to stick it.....

Mmmm...is that the business plan....serve crap food so late...punters are too hungry not to eat it??

so we ate the miniscule amount we were given.....
3 small sprouts.....
4 tiny frozen roast potatoes (thats what I think they were pretending to be)
about 8 x 6mm sticks of vaguely warm raw carrot
& a couple of pieces of dried out trout fillet stuffed with what seemed to be Roule cheese......... thats not a special Mothers day menu...its a bloody massacre
....

puddings finally arrive....yet another ridiculous wait..... I had been asked if it was to be custard or ice cream...I choose ice cream..... not so hard to remember really as we were only one of 2 tables left by this time.....it arrived with custard...I would of just eaten it, as i was too hungry to wait longer....but the bowl was filthy.... so it was returned....& if I'm honest, the apple pie actually wasn't that bad......
though I don't think you want to hear my Husbands verdict on his ruffled chocolate....what the F' was that.....saving foam hiding last night left overs???.

if this wasn't bad enough..... the next Mothers day party got so fed up...they walked out...... the Mum waited 40 minutes after her kids & husband had been served....to be faced with the same bit of old boot, my Mum in Law had....they had the sense not to pay in advance as we stupidly had.

Then there was the table of very rough characters...mostly women who LOUDLY f' & blinded all the way through our meal....talking in detail of there latest fight, injuries & arrest....in ear shot of our 5 year old....NICE.

BEWARE OF THIS PUB...IT HAS THE WORST FOOD, SERVICE & CUSTOMERSI"VE EVER COME ACROSS......shame as it looks okay......appearances can be very wrong....HIDEOUS!!!!

Don't be fooled by lovely location. Small town Mentality, chavvy geezers trying to look ard wiv there birds. Loads of plastic Man U supporters and a chain pub microwave/grill menu. More like an estate pub than one set on a cricket green. Dreadful avoid at all costs.

You guys are so lucky to get Cathy and Pete - they were well loved at their old pub and still very much missed!!

welcome to our new hosts. Kath, Pete, arnold and besse.
After painting the pub red and renaming it 'the liverpool bar', have erected a new sign 'This is Anfield' in the entrance..
lets hope they can convert the locals

Full of the worst type of people. Bad language, aggressive atmosphere - a fight waiting to happen. Will never go back.

Shame as well fitted and an excellent loacation.

I have never met a landlady with such an agressive attitude in my life.

Whilst I was not a victim, she ripped half finshed drinks out of punters hands, and screamed at the them to get off the premises.

I appreciate the licensing laws, however acting like a Rotweiler is complete unacceptable.

Seems to have gone downhill both in quality and service in recent weeks. Very disapointing attitude from the Management.

Well run pub with good food at reasonable prices in separate dining area
Good selection of beers at slighty cheaper prices
for Sussex. Excellent viewing for sky sports and live bands. Popular with all ages. Tables on outside terrace overlooking Southwick Green.
