Incredibly slow service, the food is nice when you get it though. Staff have been known to be quite rude and offish, although usually ok on a lunchtime. The menu is quite good though, although changing the amazing chocolate orange pudding into just an orange pudding was a bad move in my opinion :)

Good food, decent beer and very friendly service from staff. By far the best pub in Hatfield. Rating compared to others shown here is ludicrously low.

Went to the red lion pub for a few drinks the other week and it was great was serverd by a really great guy (Peter) he was brill helped me with wine choices ect.. and was so helpful was talkative and friendly a really credit to the pub and the managers there. Pub is SO SO much better know its been done up it use to feel un welcomeing and you felt out of place when you walked in a really members only place now it great your made and feel welcome

I thought that manager guy was ok. Didn't like the Kiwi bar man. Pub is the best in Hatfield --which isn't saying much.

New management have real attitude ... bet we wish we could all be as wonderful as them ... the short one with the beard must have size issues.

Been completely refurbished and been reopened for about a month. Really gone to town on the menu which is a huge improvement.

very friendly bar staff a shame that mcmullens rarely allow guest ales ...they have a seasonal (bout 2 monthly) but more often than not its just a mcmullens seasonal .... a big shame since its a nice pub
