Used to go here with our grandkids a few years ago; good food, good beer, reasonably priced, child-safe garden. Now - "Could I have a bitter, please" - it's nigh on 4 quid! now that may be OK in some places, but for that money I expect to be the 1st person to drink it; by the taste I probably wasn't even the second ! "OK, can I have a menu, please" - it's all pizzas! - "OK, can I have the adult menu, please" - a bog-standard steak at 17 quid plus and a few pasta dishes! "OK, forget the food, we'll sit in the garden and have our drink" - "the garden's not open but you can sit out the front" - so we end up sitting on a bench in a bit of gravel with a road about 3 yards away - ideal for the kids ! So we drove a few miles up the road and found Ye Three Fyshes in Turvey - a proper village pub. See separate review.

I've been there. I like it. Yes it's a shame the large garden is smaller but that beats Charles Wells's method of dealing with this Pub. (Sack the successful landlords and put someone in who could not run a burger van then close the place down). Good luck to the present owners. I understand the menu is expanding. Long may it continue.

Gourmet pizzas ? Fawlty Towers ? This is NOT a village pub. Give it a miss. P.S the large child friendly garden is no more - someone's built a multi-storey fram shed there.

This pub has been re-opened. I did not go in as there is a notice up telling me I can't wear a hat or a cap in there or have working clothes on. In these hard times I would have thought any customer would be welcome even if he/she were naked... seems like a way to put off customers but please do go there and make it a success.

Lovely big garden you can lose your kids in plus excellent quality ales. What more can you want from a pub. If you want something of a decent percentage then go for the bottled ales and there is enough of those to keep you interesred.

Visited here covered in mud, but nobody minded. Beer was fine, staff were friendly. Skittles in tap room, the other room looked more like a restaurant.

Had Sunday lunch here with the latest and I hope permanent (at least for my lifetime) hosts. Very satisfactory meal and pint, guest beer, very quick service good value. Could not have been better...but uou cannot eat your courses concurrently they have to be consecutive...I did not know you needed a solicitor to by a meal!:@) I would have thought if you paid your money you could do what you like with your food. PHONE number is now 01234 826885
