Now reopened as The Jugged Hare. An excellent, upmarket pub with good food but still a pub atmosphere. Well worth a visit.

There's absolutely nothing to recommend here, and while its always sad when a pub closes this one won't be missed.

Really going to miss this pub. As a Barbcian resident, I've grown to love the place . . especially as it's open over the weekends too. Even though there seems to be numerous staff changes, I have managed to get to know them all, and some still remain close friends. I for one, will certainly be at the closing party this coming Thursday!!!

This is without doubt the best pub in the world. It will break my heart when it closes.

Back again - default pub for a meeting. Rubbish selection of uninspiring booze, including the none-more-pointless deep frozen Guinness. Staff give the impression that they couldn't give a toss. The Kings Head is the pub equivalent of chewing some gum you found stuck under the seat on a bus through Hackney.

Bland is a good word to sum this place up.

Staff seem to be getting a strop complex too. It's as if she was doing me a favour by actually serving me.....

Shame really - it's in a good spot to attract a varied crowd of city suits and luvvies at the Barbican......

What a horrendous pub! Mainly because of one barmaid who tried to serve me an overpriced pint with a massive Dutch type head on it and then nastily refused to top it up until things became quite unpleasant. If I want to pay 3.60 for what amounted to about three quarters of a pint I'll go to Scandanavia, thanks. And I do not expect to have to argue with a barmaid just to get a decent pint.

Bland is the word. Went in for a drink on a Monday evening with a mate and was neither impressed nor unimpressed... just bored. A bit smoky too.

A bit by-the-numbers bland. Puts me in mind of the 'Traditional English pub' you might find in a 2 star Las Vegas hotel. Much bigger than it looks from the outside. Not bad for the area, but if this pub was a car it would be a Ford Mondeo with the Corrs on the stereo. If you want real character you'd be better off up the road at Smithfield.

Went in here on my last day when i left a job once,...(instead of waiting around to get my leaving card and gift),...thats the type of gaff we're talking about here

This is my local, and is a bit sleazy. However, the staff are friendly, the beer is OK, and the lovely female students from the local college ensure a good time is had by all.

Relaxed, smoky atmosphere, big TV's with sport or music channels.. run of the mill beers, occasional good guest ales... Not bad, good for a pub crawl as its close to Moorgate!

Went in here quite recently and the Staropramen was first class and served in really tall glasses. Cheers!!!

The Barbican Theatre and Guildhall School of Music and Drama's local. Very expensive Hawkins chain pub with Sky sports and an extremely loud juke box. Very quiet on Saturdays and heaving during the week. The beers are ok classic Stella, Boddingtons etc and one guest ale. 5/10
