Went there for a meal. Beautiful outlook in the summer but the place is a bit plastic. As for the food...it was truly awful. Plastic, processed food straight out of the packet/tin/freezer. No attempt at using any fresh local produce. A shame as the pub is in walking distance for us. Can't comment on the beer as I wasn't drinking, but it is St Austall ale who I beleive own the pub. We walked past it at 11.30pm on New Years Eve and there were only 4 people in there. A sure sign something is wrong. We won't be going there again.

I often go here and have been happy most times. I would not class this as a pub but more as a resturant. I had my wedding reception here which was very well priced and organised by staff. Mostly St Austell ales at the bar , but on the expensive side for drinks. Food is resonably priced.

A typical family/bar meal set up. Don't come here if you want atmosphere.

I went in one afternoon for the first time in years a couple of weeks ago. My girlfriend ordered a hot chocolate and a tea and was told that there weren't doing hot drinks as there weren't enough staff on. This was a bit much baring in mind there were otherwise three bar staff and only my girlfriend at the bar!
She reasoned with them and they allowed her to order a tea, this was then brought out and shoved on our table with out a word from the waitress. The Garlic Bread that followed was somehow both burnt and soggy - to the point that it folded in two when it was picked up.
I don't think I'll be going back.

Truely a dreadful pub. Dreadful food & dreadful service; let me say why. Things didnt look good when in the evening there were kethcup bottles on the table - but hey, its a pub. So we ordered. Even though the order was read back to us & confirmed it was still wrong & what was served was very poor (the 'salad garnish' had to be seen to be believed; words reallly cannot justify its awfulness). Then the main,,,eventually. I didnt, i couldnt eat any of it. The chicken was hardly even warm, the steak was badly underdone & the chips were thoses 'shellly greasy husky' chips you dreaded at school. The peas were overdone & dry,,,,,and then theres the salad garnish. Im giving the single point for the sheer audacity of calling it, let alone serving it, a salad garnish. Like i said, i didnot touch it. I went for a drink. I stood there for ten minutes without getting served. Let me explain that the pub was not busy & the restaurant was empty apart from onew other table; but it was my mothers birthday & i did notwish to make a fuss (why i took here there in the first place has nothing to do with me, i can assure you!). Needless to say the staffs attitude was insulting, but i'd given up by then & just wanted to leave. Yes, i can honestly say this my eworst ever 'eating out experiance'. Dreadful
