Stopped in for lunch and our meals were very good, there were quite a few other people dining. Good atmosphere, two open fires and friendly feel. My pint of 6X was good, I would have liked to stay for another. Not cheap.

We had time for a quick pint before catching our bus to Devizes (the pub is handy for the canal and the buses are approx. hourly). Large roadside inn on a bend in the village. Wadworth beers. Comfortably furnished. Landlord was chatty but the beer was average to poor (IPAnema football ale). TV was on but low-key. It is worth a visit if you are on the K&A canal and need a beer but there are better places around.

Strange place. Classic Wiltshire Country Pub mixture of good and bad. Pub has great character & great beer. Food very average. Front of house guy shouldn't be let anywhere near customers until he goes on refresher training.Waitress very good. Landlady sounded worn out, and was an effort to talk !! Much better choices in the area. Try Lansdowne Arms (Derry Hill), The Bell (Lacock), or the Langley Tap (Langley Burrell).

Been here twice now and had a lovely meal both times.

We stayed with friends at the campsite next door. We had booked a table for Saturday night. On arrival no record of booking, the pub was packed but the young waitress did her best to seat us as soon as she could. Unfortunately next to about 20 shrieking women celebrating a birthday. Beer was good but food distinctly average even for a pub and not good value for money. If I pay 8 for cod and chips you don't want frozen heated up!

Excellent little pub, good beer, nice garden (tho it was to wet to use) friendly atmosphere. Well worth a trip, esp if the barge is running true to form (crowded and slow service).

Excellent pub with adjoining caravan site. Large beer garden. Well-kept Wadworth's beers and good food.
A matter of a hundred yards to the Camping & Caravanning Club site (Devizes) and Kennet & Avon Canal.

Excellent fast food pub with very good wadsworth beer. Close to Kennet and Avon canal for an afternoon walk. Dogs allowed at one end of the bar.
