Now open as a Co-op, so no more pints here unfortunately.

Looks as if this former pub is nearly ready to open as a Co-op. Can't argue with the fact that it's ideally placed to be a shop, but a shame none the less.

Unfortunately this pub is now closed. It appears Punch are selling to Co-op without any consultation, as so often happens. The local councillor and Somerset CAMRA are doing what they can. Another good pub which could be lost for ever.

I use the Fleur on a fairly regular basis, and I have always found it to be as clean and tidy as you would expect a busy working local pub to be , and I have never seen Danny or Rose looking scruffy, in any way or means, the beers are always served correctly and I have never, ever seen any member of staff top up glasses from drip trays, they ALWAYS serve my pints full to the correct level,no need to top up, Rose is a wonderful cook, her food is delicious, I have never had to complain about any aspect of the service I have been offered. I would certainly recommend THE FLEUR DE LYS Go try it yourself, don,t listen to some of these losers, cheers,THE BEERSWIGGER

Bit puzzled by the last 3 reviews, so I went in again. The beer was well kept, and I couldn't fault the cleanliness of the place. Haven't tried the food lately, but apparently the Sunday lunch is more popular than ever. There is a weekday 5 lunch as well, so must try that soon. It would be interesting to know who these 3 mystery reviewers are, as there is very little detail and they haven't reviewed any other pubs yet. Perhaps they were barred and decided to get their own back!

what a sad place to be, Landlord and Landlady were scruffy and unkempt, the bars were dirty, and the general unkempt feeling was born out by the food which seem more like Tesco than home made. its a location any good landlord could turn into an absolute stunning pub, but if this visit was anything to go by it will be on the market soon and a block of flats plonked in its place. Punch Taverns should be a bit more choosy who they allow to run a prestigious pub in a location like this. No wonder the pub trade is dying with pubs and landlords like this.

Absolute shocker. Do not visit if you value your health. Pints are regularly served topped up with drip tray slops, spirits are fake and the food is poor. Legend has it the old chef was great, but he left after a short time like the rest of the staff. This pub has a real problem, shame as it was a great place before.

Not good at all..... ordered 2 beers, 1 was topped up from the beer slops. ordered Bacardi, got some cheep stuf but it was out the Barcardi bottle, the coke was out a bottle , it was flat and out of date, the floors were firlty, the bar was not kept clean, wet all over, the toilets not cleaned, ..... the only good thing is the poor locals who have to put up with the poor service given by the hound dog and his wench. why oh why does a brewey leave a good pub like this?

Yes, it is a very good pub now, with well-kept Otter and Doom Bar and excellent food. The Sunday lunch is probably the best in town. Well worth a visit. And yes, I remember Richard Stallard as well.
beerpilgrim - 26 Jun 2011 23:10
The first pub where I had real-ale (draught Bass) well - kept at the time by the late Richard Stallard. Nectar! Only pub where I have been chucked out twice (once by RS father for allegedly putting my feet on the furniture and then by RS some years later for allegedly 'canoodling' with my girl-friend!) I do hope this pub now thrives - I wish nothing but good fortune to the present custodians.

Apparently a refurb has now taken place. Not before time!

paddy and rose have made a great job in bringing the fleur back into a very usable drinkers pub. the food is excellent and very affordable, the beer range is restricted, but kept to a very good standard, try to pop in and give some support, cheers, roger

Have now visited. A good welcome from Danny, the new landlord, and well-kept ale as before. On another visit, I shall try the food, which I'm told is excellent.

I am told this pub has now reopened, after some sort of a refurb, which was perhaps needed. A visit will need to be made soon.

Saw a regular from here recently who tells me the pub is closed, and Geoff and Karen have gone. Another rent dispute apparently. When will Punch learn?
beerpilgrim - 22 Apr 2010 12:37
Modest beer, GK IPA, Abbot and Courage Best, doesn't seem to have escaped an early nineties time warp. This is Yeovil though and by all calculations not a bad place to end up for a pint.
brewguru - 20 Jan 2010 15:29
Good estate pub where you are not made to feel uneasy if you aren't a regular. Modest range of beers and modest menu but reasonable prices.

recommendable boozer, decent ales, good atmosphere

geoff192 - 25 Nov 2006 01:29
Under new ownership. A good local pub which has good entertainment, a good atmosphere, and a good range of real ales which make you welcome.
