Still great in September this year. Very popular local and hotel.

Visited this summer. It's still fantastic. Very friendly bar staff and nice food. Wish I could visit more often but I live 300 miles away.
Easily 8/10 or more.

Nice beer, bit trumpy on a quiet Tuesday evening.

Pulled in here one cold night during a cycling and camping holiday in late October, after trawling round some spectacularly awful pubs in Settle. Wonderful landlady, open fire and several Guiness and whiskies sent me back to my tent fortified against the sub-zero temperatures.

Reasonable beer and service. Have not tried the food but the prices looked decent value

This is an excellent pub. The staff are friendly and helpful. The menu has good variety and the food is great and affordable.
We had sunday 2 courses for 9 and that included a various dessert selections, which were definitely not scrimped on, with cream, ice cream or custard (or any combination thereof) thrown in!
We will definitely be stopping by here again.

Top pub inthe area.
An excellent range of real ale...,any local breweries including Wensleydale and Lancaster.
The Lancaster Black was too good!
The staff here are very friendly and welcoming.
A family run pub with good beer, good food and good people.
What more do you need.
I am not local sadly otherwise my beer consumption would rise at an alarming rate!

Have stayed round the corner three times in the last two years.

This place is fantastic - a popular place most nights of the week. Great range of real ales and well-priced good food. Highly recommended. A well-earned 9.

Called in here yesterday as we were passing. Six beers were available and those tried were in very good condition. There was an extensive menu on a large blackboard and although we didn't eat, many others were & the food looked extremely tasty. Clean welcoming pub with outdoor seating and lower level garden at the rear. Good Beer Guide entry. Would re-visit again if passing.

We've just had our wedding dinner and evening meal here. I haven't been in for several years, and my new wife not at all, but we weren't disappointed. Trevor and Barbara who run the pub are superb hosts, and really make their guests feel at home. In fact, all the staff we met were brilliant - genuinely friendly service, always with a smile. Nothing was too much trouble, and it made a wonderful day extra special. Our guests have all been telling us what a great time they had. The food and beer were first class, and I suspect that if the Hart's Head was in the south east it would be in the Observer's dining pages nearly every week.

Superb pub - a fine selection of real ales, including those from the Copper Dragon brewery in Skipton. Lovely village atmosphere and very welcoming to outside guests. Hosts and their excellent staff cannot do enough for you. Only stayed 2 nights - wish it had been longer...

If you're ever staying in this area, stay here. The staff all want you to enjoy yourself, and do everything they can to make sure you do, in a very easy going way. Beer food and acommodation is all very good, and easy on the purse. Fabulous! Now carry on drinking, I'll have a Pippin with the sparkler off!

Had the pleasure of staying here recently for a few days. Excellent accommodation, food and beer, not to mention the friendly service. This pub/hotel is superbly run by a couple who are clearly dedicated, and enjoy what they do.

Quackenbush is 100% right. Perfect balance of punters, beer, service, location and food. Try the Daleside blond ale, it's amazing. Pubs like this should be cherished and it is, by the looks of it. Definately a 10 out of 10 rating.
