Chain pub. Reasonable food (we had the steak), reasonable but unimaginative beer, typical chain pub surroundings (typical fake historic farmhouse!)

Have eaten here a few times, always reasonable without being spectacular.

I went to Heathy Farm with a family group for lunch this week. It was very busy and I was told that although the restaurant and bar tables were all fully booked, we could sit at a table outside and eat. As it was a lovely day, this wasn't a problem. The wait to order drinks and then food was very long and the staff (only 2 of them behind the bar) were unfriendly and short with customers. I suppose they are over-worked and under pressure but that is not the customer's fault. They need more people serving at busy times - especially as they seem to have a lot of funeral functions from the crematorium opposite. The food was mediocre which I was surprised about as it had been highly recommended to me. When it came to paying at the bar - another lengthy wait - I mentioned that the service was very slow but the bar person offered a rather uncivil and impatient 'sorry about that'. I do sympathise with their position when they are so pressured but as the pub is making so much money from funeral business, they should put more staff on.

We went here for dinner last night. We had booked a table for 10 people, but due to the snow, only 4 people could actually make it, and the first to arrive was half an hour after the time we had booked the table for.

We kept the staff updated on our journey, and everyone we spoke to on the phone were very understanding, and sympathetic.

The food was amazing! We had pre ordered from the festive menu! It came out very quickly as we were in a rush to get to the next place we were going!

The Heathy farm has come along way from its Appleton days !
It has a great family atmosphere with a child playground, fantastic garden, great food served by friendly staff. On a summers day you can sit outside enjoying your lunch whilst watching your children have fun playng, they have ambient music in the garden and the staff make you feel like a valued customer. Top marks for a top family pub !

The food and service at Heathy Farm have been consistently great for many years now. It has obviously moved on unregonisably from those reviews in 2005(!!), mind you I think it was a different style then. Used to go to the Hillside, but the service and food is at best average. The same friendly faces have been serving us for a long time which is such a rarity when most pubs turnover staff every week. The boss is a really friendly guy and does support the hammers, but as spike78 says you can't have everything! The food is always of a high standard and portions are good, the curries are authentic and dishes like Lamb shank would certainly not be out of place in a so called gastro pub. They are even doing 2 for 9.95 on big meals like beef&ale pie and giant cod & chips. The beer garden is probably the best in the area, the bar range is good, so all round, a great place to visit.

Well, what can I say. My work dept has had 2x lunchtime buffets here and I have never consumed so much grease in one sitting. Everything is battered and deep-fried. Chicken fillets, battered mushrooms, spring rolls etc.

A bit soul-less, can't comment on the beer as I have had soft drinks each time.

4/10, go to Ye Olde Six Bells in Horley instead, my favoured lunchtime work eatery.

This is decent enough pub, no beefs. Excellent for when its sunny to sit outside. Landlord is a good man too, supports the hammers but cant have everything.

Staying at LGW airport the night before flying back to Newark. Had a very nice time at this pub. Friendly people at the bar and had a tasty "Steak & Ale Pie" dinner. Good pub fare!

It will be nice when smoking is completely outlawed. Then the Heathy Pub would be excellent!

This place must have improved massively since the last review?? We have been there now 10+ times and everytime has been a good experience, the food is good and service quick/polite. The childrens play area is very well done and enclosed so allows you to relax, I can highly reccommend this pub well worth a visit. In a place like Crawley where good eating places are very rare, give this a try.

if you are looking for a good meal dont bother going to this pub, when me and the missus went there in sept2004 the service was crap and the food was even worse , i could of done better with a microwave and george forman ,the missus complained and the manager was so embarresed we got the meal for free, but to be fare it has changed hands since but personally i wouldnt bother ,the parsons pig or hillside inn just up the road is infinatly better
