My 2nd 'spoons of the day a few weeks back and another very decent effort from Mr Martin & Co.

Apparently the pub is named after the man who helped design the town.

Large & open plan inside with the bar at the far end from the front door when you come in from London Street.

6pm on a Saturday evening, the pub is fairly quiet bar the few that were eating with most of these being families.

10 pumps with 9 ales on. A couple of Lancashire breweries and 2 offerings from Hawkshead in Cumbria. My pint of Windermere pale was very good.

A nice looking pub for a relatively new build , conservatory and garden to the side look like recent additions. From what I saw the other pubs in Fleetwood weren't up to much so I probably went to the best 2 in the town.

Possibly the best pub in Fleetwood which goes to show how crap the others are as this is a wetherspoons.

Average Wetherspoons though welcome in a twon berfet of decent ale. The Lytham IPA was quite drinkable.

Enjoyed a snack meal in here after a stroll round the prom. Good selection of ales from mainly local berwers (Lancaster Brewery featured well). Busy but efficiently run and we didn't have to wait long for food or drinks. Very handy for the tram and one of the better Wetherspoons we have been in recently.

A good Wetherspoon's, plenty of ales on tap, busy and bustling and friendly service. A good pint of Dent T'Owd Tup, which was a bargain at £1.89 for a 6.0 ABV pint. A minute's walk from the London Street tram stop.

Generally, what you see is what you get with Wetherspoons, this is no exception. At the time of my visit (5pm Sat) it was very busy (as with most "spoons")and a drunk singing solo in the corner did nothing to promote the pub either.

That said, the staff were pleasant enough although a recently introduced "CAMRA" concessionary discount of 50p (to compete with the Strawberry Gardens) hadn't been transmitted to all of them.

The variety of beers on tap were personally a little disappointing, with too many dark or generic types for me. That said the only light ale on tap, a George Wright brew was very good.

Overall a good but typical "spoons", just the limited choice of beers & dodgy clientle that let it down for me.

As reviewed before and still maintaining it's high standards.

One of the best Wetherspoons there is around

Beer and food was good but as per usual with Spoons it could have done with another couple of staff behind the bar.

The best place for ale in the North Fylde Peninsular.

Popped in at lunchtime on the Saturday of the Beer Festival weekend, there was a pleasant buzz with it being around half full. The beer I had was in great condition, which was pleasing, and I have certainly been in worse Spoons. If you take them for what they are then this is ok, comfortable, warm and cheap.

Had 7 of 10 handpumps the other night showcasing Northern Brewery beers - of which most except the stout tasted the same........

To add, usual wetherspoons behaviour the other night. Serving an 8% Belgium Beer, but only serving it in half pints only as instructed! Yet if you asked for 2 halves (or 4 in my case) you got your pint in glasses! The staff were puzzled why the majority of the customers were "off their rockers" that night!

Currently in the middle of a 2 Northern Micro Beer Festival - no national brews like Abbots n Pedrigree's to be seen - yippee

Appears we were following gillhalfpint around the Fleetwood pubs this weekend. We tend to call in here on the Saturday evening after every Fleetwood beer festival. This year it was very quiet compared to previous years. Maybe Wyre Light across the road is taking some of their custom. It's one of the better Wetherspoons is this one, it's not always got a great range of beer but it's always well kept. Had a pint of the George Wright Pure Blonde which was very tasty. It's alright in here.

Calledin while at Fleetwood beer festival and would agree it is one of the better spoons pubs. Good beer choice, 2 Phoenix and 3 George Wright beers and they were in good condition too. Nice layout - not just a big barn of a place, and really clean loos. Wish all were as good.

Clean Wetherspoon pub - OK

One of the better Weatherspoons, will come to buts soon. Excellant range of beers, usually a Phoenix beer on, and kept fairly well. Opens late most nights.
The buts, service is hit and miss. Staff have a bad habit of putting the pegs in the barrels before final orders. A better pub during the day, can get very noisy and "bashful" at night. Do your drinking before 8-9 o clock on a friday or saturday night!

Good selection of guest beers at reasonable prices. Spoilt it a bit by having "background music".Food is ok but can be a bit hit and miss.

Chavtastic pub (Burberry caps essential). Expect to wait over an hour for a Korma even on "Curry Thursday". That said, decent range of beer and cheap as you'd expect from a 'spoons.

Decent pint and a good choice of guest beers at a reasonable price, even cheaper on a Monday. Service can be very poor, but not as bad as most Wetherspoons.

Up until about a year ago this was a great pub, but unfortunately it now seems to be full of chavs and staff who can't be bothered to serve anyone. The phrase that springs to mind is too many chiefs and not enough indians as there always seems to be at least three managers knocking about and one or two staff behind a bar which is quite regularly queueing three deep
