Just round the corner from the Travelodge where we were staying, didn't fancy the GK beers so stuck to lager. Food was ok.

dont know where the good reviews are coming from, must be the rooms side of thing which ive never stopped in but as for somewhere to eat and drink i wouldnt rate it. food is mediocre, that staff seem to be lacking but at least you can normaly get a good pint

Reasonably priced accommodation with a good breakfast. Run of the mill GK pub , which makes it OK in my book, marred only by a foul-mouthed drunken scouser staggering around the bar. I don't need to travel a hundred miles to see one of those. Found him later urinating on the wall outside Nando's before he staggered inside, where i am sure he received a warm welcome. Made my night though.

I went in this pub yesterday (21/12/09. Overall it was quite good. It is a corner pub, with the bar in the middle, and the floor of the pub arranged around it in a kind of square 'U'.

I agree with the previous reviewer re the staff organisation. It was 1pm and there was one barstaff, a friendly lady, doing the work of 2/3 staff. Then 30 mins later the other staff appeared to surface.

Food ok, and my mate's pint of 'Rockin' Rudolph' was good.

We stayed here for two nights a couple of weeks ago. The main room is a large flag floored affair, theres a small area round the back of the bar that looks like it used to be a snug and theres a bistro attached, which is where you are served breakfast. Leather sofas and chairs all around the place along with a large number of dining tables and a couple of large TV screens. 6 handpumps on the bar, 2 with GK IPA, 2 with Abbot and 2 serving changing guests. All the pints I had were OK especially the Hopback Entire Stout. They were also running a promotion here where you get a stamp on a card for each pint of real ale you bought and then get a free one with four stamps. The staff are friendly if a little disorganised. I wouldnt recommend the hotel as we found it quite noisy being on a main road and the breakfast service was a bit haphazard although the quality was good (Eggs Benedict anyone). Overall its a decent enough place and a lot better than most of Worcesters pubs.

Stayed here 3 nights. Accommodation and food quite reasonable. Breakfast good. Disappointed with the beer, quality and choice, especially as adverts everywhere encouraging customers to try beers from the Real Ale Menu this week. Good job there was the Plough to walk to.

I stayed here a few times and found the staff friendly, the bar maids were very easy on the eye and the clintele good. It's on the edge of town so it appeared they didn't get the dodgy crownd (If worcester has one.) If you stayed in the hotel then the staff would serve you after hours, something we used to take advantage of far too often. Once spent an evening teaching the staff how to make white russians. Not a bad place at all.

Went in over Easter weekend. Vey busy, good Greene King Abbot & IPA plus Ruddles Best as a guest ale.Service friendly and fast in spite of staff covering bistro and hotel duties as well. Tasty food good value - comfortable seating and outside courtyard. All in all a pleasant experience.

Went in this place a few weeks ago. The first barman walked past me and went to collect some glasses, another stood at the other end of the bar. So I can't tell you what the beer was like as I walked out and went to the much more welcoming Cardinal's Hat.
