This is a City centre bar, which mainly serves wine, has no bar pumps at all, so only offered bottles of Duvel from the fridge at £3.40 a go to satisfy the beer drinkers amongst us
Yes, the Duvel was nice, but it was literally the only drink for a beer drinker available, so the choice was very, very poor.
On the plus side, the bar was cosy, nicely lit and somewhere you could relax over your drink, so despite the above, it's worth a visit, just don't expect any chocie at the bar.

plastic geordie your absolutely correct about the owner of the vineyardIKnow him better than he knows himself! You will not see him again in the uk,hes in contempt with the british courts. The guy done someting no other normal person would do to the mother of their child! He took his ex partners daughter to Tunisia for a holiday(which was granted by a judge in newcastlefor 1WEEK, hes been there for over 4YEARS now.The mother of his child has been fighting for her daughter in the muslim court in Tunisia and unfortunately has recently lost her custody battle. This is not a human being, this is a beast.
He is now married and living with his new wife(an ex employee)who comes to the vineyard every other month and takes the money back to tunisia.Terrible!SHAME ON HER!
So all you nice people who drink in the vineyard and pay extortinate prices remember your funding a beast in Tunisia.

If you fancy a good laugh? Get yourself down to The Vineyard on Grey Street!

The owner, Moet Bondi(get it winebar lol). Paints himself as being half French half Italian(well the last time I met him he was)! He use to claim he was French/Sicilian. That is until Sicilians started to frequent the bar! lol In actual fact, he is Arab....real name Mohamed!! Thinks the "English are lazy and thick"!! His words not mine. But is quite happy to charge you extortionate prices for his wares!!

It's worth a visit with ya mates. Have a chat with him. You'll be rolling in the isles! Ask him about the "restaurant" he used to own in Sunderland. It was a takeaway Kebab shop!! lol

I absolutely love this place - there's always a great atmosphere, fab cocktails and the staff are very friendly. Its a great people-watching place as well and all my friends who I have taken there have loved it as much as I have! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who enjoys a good drink in a friendly and relaxing setting!

Only been in a couple of times and wasnt very busy. As a cocktail bar you dont get much beer. Fair play i had a nice Duvel and the toilets are canny smart. Seems to be for older women and office workers. Not a place i would bother with to be honest.

One of my favourite drinking haunts ever! Love the music, the wine and the ice cold Duvel (always expertly poured with not too much head). Try the cigars too!

not bad, pleasant staff who are eager to please and doesn't get too busy. There is something not quite 'right' about it though-and for the life of me I can't think what it is. It could be the fact that everyone who walks past it(and it is on a very busy junction)seems to stare in-you feel a bit of a zoo exhibit!

This is by far my favorite bar in Newcastle. The atmosphere is lively but warm. It gets full at weekends playing latin house music and serving good wine. There is no dress code there isn't even any door staff!and there is a good mix of customers young and older. Make sure you visit the toilets they are an experience in themselves. They don't sell draught beer and that suits me, I can drink beer in other bars.
