What an absolute s**thole. Can't believe it, this pub used to be so great but has all the future of a fu**ing snowman. You walk in and the landlord family look at you as if you'd just taken a dump on the piss-stained carpet, before the rest of the Saturday massive, all failed hooligans try and stare you out (often failing). The pool table is put away at about 4 o clock, so fun is kept to whatever football game is on the TV and whichever 2 bob karaoke firm they've got in there that week, playing songs I could listen to indoors on the radio with my hairbrush in hand. The bar stuff, a solid 4/10 maximum have some of the most upset boats you've ever set eyes upon and the price of the drinks are a damn right liberty. The landlord stands at the door come half 10 like a poor man's Tony Soprano, dunno why he bothers, there's often no fu**er that gives a shit come that time. Joke.

i last came here a few years ago when i was looking after a sick relative, having lived in the area most of my life i thought i would get an ok welcome? but no ! some of the new regulars with northern accent gave me dodgy lookswhicj really irked me having been born and bred in the area, i did give it a few further tries but in the end gave up, Mick the landlord looks like he has had enough and the food i ate there was 2/10 shame it used to be a good pub.

I used to work here and for all you who think its boring; its not! The punters are great and the banter is even better. All food and drinks are served fresh and all the bar staff are friendly! The China is run by a friendly family; with the pubs cat Tom; who everybody loves. Theres karaoke every other Saturday which is brilliant and when the sport's on. from Man Utd, to Millwall to even the Tag/ Touch Rugby groups coming in from April- October - its even better! - the pub is not old fashioned and its not perfect for a night out but for pre drinks with your pals and for a laugh; its the one! Its not spacious; but if it can fit everyone in for the David Haye fight in July; then it can fit loads in! - Not a bad pub at all! Well done Mick & Lyn :)

Good old fashioned simple bar. Not poncy, unlike some others round here.

Great pub - does exactly what it says on the box. It's a boozer. But a friendly one. Sports on the TV, darts, pool. Good beers - in fact one of the only pubs I can never remember sending a pint back in. Nice one Mickey! Tuesdays and Wednesdays from end-April to October it's busy with rugby folks from Southwark park from around 7pm, but as I'm often one of those I'm not complaining.

Nice average boozer, recommend for a visit.

Good pub, 2 ales (Tetley and Pride) on, both good. Agree completely with the previous comment - this is a favourite for a lot of those who've lived a long time in Rotherhithe, and all the better for it. Enough pubs this way have already become flts or halal chicken joints.

My dad used to take me in here when I was a kid and sit me down with a lemonade and bag of crisps so he could play darts and pool. 15 years on, the atmosphere and decor have barely changed, if at all, and I've upgraded to having vodka in my lemonade! I like the fact that it's not pretentious and remains a nice little boozer.
Have to say I agree with moncrief's comment 100%.

Not a bad little pub. The food can be hit and miss. Sometimes okay and then at other times it just looks and tastes like fried krap. Also me and my mates like to go there on week nights to catch the champions league but the pub is full of aussies who come down after playing "touch" rugby (is that a gay sport?). They stink (literally) and most of the time you can over hear them complaining about London and how Bondi is so much more fun. Well there are planes leaving from Heathrow every 5 mins.... so they know what to do!!

Not a bad little boozer, been going in there since I was a little kid and it hasn't changed much ove the years. For a quick drink with mates its alright but wouldn't wanna go there for a proper night out. The resdent cat is cute though

RE: The 60 year old criminal types, They probably spend more money in one sunday's drinking session than you spend on house wine and alco-pops all year.
If the local pubs had to rely on one of your big night's out, They'd all be flats and kebab shops by now.

Quality local boozer. It does exactly what it says on the tin.

So bad it's good. Actually, forget that. It's bad.

I was in there last Sunday lunchtime and it was full of 60's criminal types with nice suits and a scar on their faces. It was like something out of a film. Dodgy.

Lively, family and friendly atmosphere with beer garden that allows kids to play. Best spuds in SE London and excellent bar food.
