please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Pleased to say that things are as good as the last review, (but why has no one else reviewed or commented on this pub for over 3 years now?!?!?!). Entry in 2019 GBG so local CAMRA have visited, suggest they spread the word on the other platforms that champion good beer. Still run by Upham as part of a large but relatively local chain.
Busy Monday evening, with the local music club, and 2 receptions, but still space for a beer and a bite.
5 pumps available, but only 3 in use mid week. The flagship Upham Porter ran out by 7pm and no more in the cellar, which was disappointing. Perhaps stock levels need to be reviewed by the brewery, especially around rugby 6 Nations time. I did get a pint earlier this evening and it was excellent - classic English copper coloured traditional bitter and one of the best I have drunk anywhere for quite some time, so great shame it ran out. Choice was then fff Forward Pass and Upham Cherokee.
Varied food menu, tasty prawn starter, but a little disappointed to only find 4 prawns for my money. Steak was fantastic, chips and vine tomatoes good too.

Vastly improved since being taken over and tastefully renovated by Upham Brewery who usually have at least 3 of their rather good ales on hand pump. Knowledgeable and pleasant bar staff make it a very welcome place to visit and the little attentions to detail are worth discovering. Good car park and very convenient for the nearby Spring Arts Centre (which doesn't sell draft beer).

Recently taken over by the Upham Brewery so worth visiting as they don't muck about.

This pub could be great given the right management. It must upscale the food offer beyond Sunday roasts, and appeal to the local clientele who are desperate for a decent pub offering good food, a real welcome, good real ales, and a year-round hospitality. It has all the requisites for success - location, parking, space and a kitchen, but it has stubbornly failed to capitalise on these.
I've had a few very pleasant beers outside on the terrace, so the potential is there for the taking.

Didn't last long this time either. Still, there are other pubs. I feel sorry for the staff and wish them well.

This pub has now been closed with the owner citing the credit crunch. It was a really busy pub a few years ago but has since gone steadily downhill. Myself and others ceased going in to it under the last owner, because it became a pub where groups of foul mothed males would congregate. Women especially would stay away. The landlord was unnecessarily aggressive and unfriendly. A regular customer wanted a packet of crisps there once and was told that the till had already been cashed up. If the landlord's friends were drinking there, the pub would be open till 11pm plus. Myself and a friend were there at 10.20 ish one evening and were told in a gruff voice. "Closing at half ten tonight". It was never a welcoming pub.

Punch Taverns are looking to keep it open, and with the right landlord it can again be a thriving pub.

Not sure why the previous poster had a problem here. I have always found The Wheelwrights to be very friendly and welcoming.
They also have a good variety of music.
If anybody is interested in listening to a very good, up and coming young acoustic guitar duo, they are playing here on Sunday 20th July at 1700 Hrs. They are called Momajest and really are not to be missed. The play at the Wheelwrights about once a month if you can't catch them on 20th July.

New to the Area i decided to try the Wheelwrights in Havant and felt like i was walking into a pub that was was hosting a funeral for a recluse.

The hosts were abrupt and made me feel uncomfortable, I did not feel relaxed and didnt even finish my drink before leaving.
