Interesting to read the pro and con comments. The fact is thes Phil & Alison are scruffy, uncempt, and are lacking in personal hygene. Why they think they can work in a public service establishment defies all intelligence. Well riddance. What finally turned me off the place is when Alison proudly produced a broken chunk of phills rotten tooth from off the chopping board for the lemons. at least thay saved the environment by the lack of use of detergent by recycling their clothes, waring the same ones every day! As for their filthy (philthy) nails........
Phil you must be proud for buggering up two great pubs. Any one that can defend you must look at their own personal standards!
Shame we lost Andy & Tina they worked hard in cleansing the place and bring back custom.
However, the new manager Barry is a great bloke, full of ideas and will turn the place around- give it a try.

You dont do it now you follow people who are in and out of pubs just because they cant have there own way, so why dont you say something useful or keep quiet because your boring me now you could alway go ask what to put if you cant think of anything.

welcome bac ali and phil well at least now i can go and have a decent pint and not worry about where i leave my pint not like some of the other pubs in the town where it might get spiked!!!! but the dominoe's team aint been in the pub since ali and phil left so 14031966 the team went tits up cause phil and ali were in the team and tina and andy didn't want to know so to the people of this crappy town why cant you let bygones be bygones and let peolple lead their own life's and choose for themselves where they want to drink

Latest info.....apparently its a clean slate now for everybody who was previously barred, sort of like a 'fresh start' for everyone. If that's the case it will be the only thing 'fresh' about this sorry excuse of a pub ...certainly not the 'fresh' shirt that Harold wears daily, nor the fresh dirt under his fingernails as he lovingly serves you one of his 'specials'. Lets face it... this pub is on it's arse and they've brought back the specialists to apply the final mortal wound!!

Hi Futurewealth, by the look of it your wonderful landlord and landlady have done exactly the same to your pub as they did to ours, this could explain why they only lasted a few months...after our latest couple worked wonders and turned the bedford into a clean and decent pub again it looks like they have returned to finish the job of destroying it totally. I do hope the darts, crib and dominos teams settle in their new pubs after pulling out of here. Best of luck !!!!!

Well, guess what.....Harold is Back!! It seems as if things didn't work out in Northamptonshire after all!!
It all went wrong when, after barring all the locals, he then excelled himself by actually barring the Dreyman!! Not to be recommended really if you actually want to have some beer to sell!!!
And so Northamptonshires loss is Linslade's gain. Pick that door, or that door!! I'll get my coat now!!

Well what a d***head 14031966 you are, I am a regular in the Pub in Northamptonshire and frankly when the Bedfrord Arms Landlord and Landlady came to our pub they completely turned the place around in a few short weeks, this Landlord and Landlady certainly know how to run a pub and we are not 'skanky' in this pub there are quite a few millionaires who are regulars and they did not make their money by being wrong about people!

Hello again sexpot, as you must be the only fan of the last landlord / lady, in your eyes they could do no wrong but all you have to do is go in there and talk to the regulars to find out that he was better known for being dirty, rude, full of his own importance and between the two of them had nothing better to do than take photographs and write insulting comments on the back of them, who know's there may even have been a photograph of you ????
If they were really that great why don't you visit them in Northamptonshire ????

babysham1 - yes you are quite right in what you are saying and you are only letting the landlord and landlady know about a certain person and his credit and at least you agree that there are some skanky people in there and some good ones too and yes there is nothing wrong with the white horse to as had a drink in there many a time.
14031966 - yes the building is owned by enterprise inns and it is in great need of a tidy up, but this wont be done until the lease is sold on this pub, as you may be well aware. If you remember or want to remember the last landlord and landlady tried their hardest to get the outside re done but nothing was ever done about it. Also if you are a customer from the past you would know that the lease is up for sale as the last landlord and landlady explained to everyone including myself, also the meals are ok in this pub,as i have had a meal or two whilst visiting.
Only thing I can say that I am not happy with is that alot of people have a bad thing to say about the last landlord and landlady and they should let sleeping dogs lie, they ran this pub in a lovely, clean well presented manor and was liked by many people so please those who are being nasty please leave alone and get on with your lives and stop hearting others.

To Babysham1, I take it that as you use the pub and obviously enjoy the excellent food on offer....and not just the Sunday roasts, you are classing yourself as "skanky". What part of the english language is this?. Yes the pub is tired looking outside but this is down to Enterprise Inns (the owners). Inside is spotless, very friendly, but you would know this as you obviously drink / eat there anyway !!!!!. Oh and all your spelling mistakes don't even get me started xx

This pub is in serious need of decoration. It looks skanky and has skanky people drinking in it. Granted they do a lovely sunday roast but the people that drink in there are like a walikng episode of the jeremy kyle show.

Hi sexpot we have been going in and past this pub for years and we are very glad to see the back of the last landlord. who did not have a drink problem because he had barred every one!!! we have not seen any problems with the new couple.and are more the happy with them and hope they stay here for a long time

Many thanks for that invite andy and tina, I took your advice from this site, and quess what I found it worse. At least the last landlord and landlady controlled the drunks not like what I saw early on this week with an old man really falling over drunk and trying to get into a taxi. I shall visit again so lets hope the drunks are more controlled

i have just been to the pub and its lovely had a great meal and drinks the people there are lovely i started talking to phil [the landlord] and he explianed that he is atctualy ill at the moment so to big nose i say dont judge a book by the cover and if you want to see a dirty pub try going to the pub up the road i think its called the ship according to this website and i would not been seen dead in it I WILL BE GOING TO THIS PUB REGUARLY AND I ENJOY THE FOOD AND DRINK so find some thing else to moan about !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I read these messages on this site of people being nasty. Some of them are slate the landlord and landladies, this site is for people to look up and find a public house/b&b/restaurent. NOT to find people being slated as they are, if you have a personal problem with the landlords then why not be man enough to speak to them personally.

This pub is dirty and very very smelly, and the landlord is rude and looks like he needs a wash. Because of these factors my wife and I walk in one door and swiftly left through the other!

Was my local for about 6 months a number of years ago and it is true to say I never had a bad pint or meal in the place and was always made welcome. Dead handy for all the local amenities - tends to get a healthy tradesman bar at the end of the working day. Was great to see the stunning and huge white Alsation house wolf take friendly to me and the 'mrs rather than bury me in the pub garden which by the size and health of the thing - it could have done.

Went in last night for the first time in a while, great atmosphere and the staff and company was excellent. Nice to see the pool table gone at last.Well done PP I will certainly return sooner this time.

went in this dump again this week and will never go in it again. Never felt more unwelcome in an empty pub before in my life. The beer was warm and the land lord was cold. worse pub i been in years
