Has been closed for the past few months. No loss to the pub scene of Kendal whatsoever! I hear the landlady has moved on to the George and Dragon in town.

I absolutely agree with the previous comment, its awful and its usually full of alcopop swilling teenagers!

'an insane genius' - that is the person who thought of turning this place into a bar, at least according to the previous poster. i would'nt go that far. all-in-all, theres nothing paticularly wrong with this place, i've drank there. its fine.....well, theres nothing paticularly right about it either, its just one of the latest in a small but burgeoning line of yates/all-bar-one type establishments that are beginning to infiltrate the auld grey town with their generified, formulaeic approach, some might say bland and soulless - but ultimately geared towards the young adults of a certain mindset in a small town, stuck in a small town ethos which they are unlikely to ever leave but are happy to 'escape' for at least one nite of the weekend. i don't blame them. and as such this place does provide a niche away from the staid old interiors of its contemporaries along the street. but thats just it, the place thinks that it is exactly that - contemporary. when nothing could be further from the truth. just an average average generic bar with little soul and no identity, so save yourselves the time (and money) and have an icecream instead.

A stylish and modern bar that makes a great 'first stop' on a night out in K-Town as it's right on the brow of the hill and you come down into town. Before Bar 99 was born the bar was called Georgian House after the building which came before. For years the building was a disused wreck and whoever had the idea to totally change the place into a bar was an insane genius! Good bar, nice staff. And some of the female cutomers ain't bad either! I sin yaz...
