Must be a new chef here, I shared a chateaubriand with a pal and it really hit the spot.

quite possibly one of the worst places ive ever had to eat in, due to the Druids Pub (next door) kitchen not being opened we stumbled upon this place. the decor was hideous and it felt like being in a dodgy back street cafe. the wine tasted like malt vinegar and the food was awful. The final straw that pushed us out of the door never to return was the state of the ladies toilets there was an actual poo on the floor and tissue paper in the sinks and stuck on the wall. AWFUL

Good place for live music and sport. No Coka Cola brigade allowed, and never any trouble.

Remberence Sunday morning. First pint tasted a bit like vinegar. Apologies made and a fresh pint poured (from the same damned pump). A bit better but not by much. Left the beer and went up to the Society Rooms for an excellent pint. I can't see me returning to Earls again.

this is a real characters place..the landlord dave...cant hear ya!!!!!!!!is a largh..the pub is slowly being refurbished and is 1 of best pubs in maidstone for the live music scene....it can seem rough and ready but genrally it is a good pub

Known more for live music and TV sport than its beer, but the pint of John Smith's Cask that I had was better than I was expecting (but that's not saying much...).

Small refurbishment outside but still the same dump inside. Where is the good beer? Always seem to have a Nelson beer on and this pub wins the accolade for the single worst pint I have ever had.

as regards to the staff, dave has had a crackdown about standing around chatting, and plenty of heads have rolled recently! although back at uni now, even as the chef over summer 2007 i was "reminded" a few times that i had stuff to do!

earls used to have a bit of a reputation. this was because previous landlords were pretty much just wasters. the current landlord, Dave Greenslade, & his mrs Clare are doing a good job with the pub. live music at least 3 nights a week, food every day, good beer, (contrary to other opinions in this thread) dave looks after his lines!

Seemed a welcoming place, even if some of the staff were more interested in talking to each other than working. Friendly clientele. Now the smoking ban has come in, the smelly carpet is in desparate need of replacement or a good clean.

I have gigged here with my band OGWA about 15 times in the last 3 years and always had a great night. The clientel and staff always make us very welcome and everyone has enjoyed the show. Beer and food here is very good also, so if you are visiting Maidstone, don't miss it.

Rude bar staff, pirate tv (although thats not always a bad thing, just a sign of how bad this place really is), shocking clinentel. Overall bad pub. Advisable to stay clear!

A bad pub. Only redeeming feature was Olde English Cider on tap which has vanished in the past few months. Rude, unfriendly staff. Average beer with nothing out of the ordinary available. Kareoke night is appalling. Full of weirdos spending their job seekers allowance.

A terrible pub, dirty carpet, dirty walls, full of un-employed wanna be gangster types. 1st and only time I went in was at 8pm and a woman sitting at the bar threw up on the floor as if thats the norm. Nasty.
