Didnt eat here except for a scotch egg which was tops, so cant really comment on the food. But the beer was great especially the well recommended Firkin Fox, also had a good range of bottled Badger ales. paddypint - 8 Apr 2012 14:08
Very disappointed with what has happened to this pub. It has lost that family feel and on my visit the bar staff forgot about my order and made me wait while they served food. The food. Oh dear. It was terrible. Frozen fish and chips that looked like it came from a Findus package in 1985. I thought Britain's food had progressed since then. Clearly not. Macaroni cheese wihout cheese. A microwave meal and a very poor one. Do not eat here under any circumstances as you will be ripped off Timmymc - 26 Feb 2012 13:51
On a quiet Monday evening I popped in for a couple of jars. Seemed like a nice enough pub - served quickly by a pleasant barman. Two good pints (Badger and Tanglefoot). As I have no experience of the previous, and clearly well thought of managers, I cant compare like for like. However, I have no complaints and would recommend this pub for anyone seeking a good quality and quiet pint. twineyboy - 24 Jan 2012 22:22
Yes, the pub has gone downhill since Alan & Claire left (must get to the 3 Kings soon). Expensive continental lagers although real ales still available, drinkable and not TOO expensive. Food prices have gone through the roof. I remember having a wonderful proper home cooked Irish Stew there a few years ago - nothing like that on the menu now. osprey - 18 Nov 2011 23:39
Looking forward to visiting for the traditional pre-Babas drinks. Muntjac - 12 Oct 2011 16:48
